It was time to start school. Finn drove me there, and I went to a big classroom full of sewing machines and fabrics and threads. It was incredible.
The palest blue cloths and the brightest red threads were all over the shelves, with teal and violet and jade fabric in little see through glass cupboards.
There were about 10 other people, all staring in awe like me.
A blonde woman looking like she was in her late 20s walked into the centre of the room. She wore a floaty green dress and had piercing blue eyes.
"I'm Alana- of course, you can call me Miss Montez if you want, but I prefer Alana. I'm here to teach you about textiles. Obviously."
She seemed so elegant and knowing, but also relatable and fun. There were no more than 10 years between us, I was sure.
"So, today I'm not teaching you anything, or making you do anything or even helping you. I want you to show me your best work that you can do in the next three lessons. Go. Grab any fabrics, threads- go wild!"
I decided to remake the dress I'd made for my schools end of year dance. Basically the British prom.
I'd seen a deep red fabric and netting to match, and decided that they were perfect.
When I got to a desk to draw and plan my designs, a girl came up to me. She was short and had mousy brown hair.
"Did you come here with Finn? Attractive, gorgeous Finn?"
"If attractive, gorgeous Finn is also annoying, arrogant Finn, yes."
"Arrogant? No, he's not arrogant. He's perfect." She gazed into the sky dreamily. I laughed to myself and pulled out my phone. We had each other's numbers for emergency purposes, but I was with a crazy girl- an emergency.
Amber: Finn, I swear what do girls like about you? There's a girl drooling next to me about you. It's really disturbing.
She glanced back up at me.
"Is he your boyfriend?" She questioned as I sketched the skirt.
"No. Bye." I dismissed her.
She trotted off to continue with what looked like a skater skirt and a crop top- not too impressive.
Finn- I'm incredible. Are you blind and deaf? I'm very sweet and very sexy.
I giggled and continued.

When I left class, Finn was waiting outside. The mousy girl was following me out and saw him.She ran over to him and sat next to him, chatting to him.
"Finn. Let's go." I said. He gave me a look of thanks and hopped off the railing he was sat on.
"Was that the girl you texted me about?" He shuddered.
"Wow. Sherlock Holmes here, everyone. Did she tell you her name, what is it?" I replied sarcastically.
"Grace Jones. She's one of those intelligent ones that's been moved up two years. She's 16. Textiles is a hobby, not serious and she's an aspiring author. She wants to be a parent one day."
"She told you all of that in the 10 seconds it took me to get you?"
"Yes. I'm so glad that I have art with my favourite girl, Kendall. Where was Natalie?" Finn said.
"Oh! Probably off. Sick or something."
I hadn't thought about it. That girl was the only interaction I'd had for two hours.

"Finn! Chinese or pizza?" I yelled at him, even though he was only on the other side of the room."I'm not deaf, and neither are the neighbours missy. Shut it." He rolled his eyes. "Chinese. Chicken Chow Mien, egg fried rice, seaweed."
I dialled the number and ordered for us.
"By the way, my friends are coming over in half an hour."
"Finn! Why don't you tell me when we have guests?" I said, referencing the girl in his bed.
"I'm not going to bed them, Amber!" He laughed.
I rolled my eyes and left the room to charge my phone. About twenty minutes later, I heard Finn welcome someone. I decided to be nosey and meet them. And this was a chance to majorly embarrass Finn.
"Finn! I told you. No more men in here. Last time the noises kept me up all night!" I said as I walked into the living room.
Finn was sat with a boy with inky black hair and dark blue eyes, who was now sniggering.
"Amber. Shut it." Finn gritted his teeth.
"Nope. Did you know that Finn enjoys rope, I tidied his room the next day and found some on the bed. Sorry, what's your name?"
"Adam Adrinas." He chuckled. "And you must be the famous Amber. S is for safe." He said as he took a swig of beer.
Finn blushed and coughed.
"Actually, I hate tying up and men."
"I'd better get going then." Adam said.
"No. I need male interaction. I had to clean period stained sheets a few days ago."
