 Chapter One- The Chen Dragon

I raced into the classroom with barely a minute left. Gosh, I can't believe I had to wait for Chloe and Emily to get their stuff again! How long does it take to collect your diary and schoolbooks? Forever, Apparently!  I looked around for Cassie, my only real friend in my current class; Chinese because somehow Emily, Chloe and Isabel, the rest of my friends, lucked out and got Mrs Niakes! Who not only gives relativly easy A's but doesn't insist on a seating plan! But I got fated with the Chong Dragon, aka Mr Chong. My friends and I call him this because he has a habit of being very short-tempered. Especially at those dumb, giggling girls two rows over and the popular "bad" boys, although they really were all wusses that would go crying to mummy over a spider. Oh no, the Chong Dragon enters! Wait... are those test papers? Oh I'm so not prepaired for this. I desperately  need help for this unit- I didn't study at all. I turned to Cassie, she'd help me.

"I'll help you if you help me." She looked at me with amusement for a moment, then nodded. Whew, crisis adverted! I can breathe again. Not to say anything, but Cassie's Chinese and when she was younger used to speak Mandarin fluently, so she was the resident hero in Chinese.

I tried in vain to calm my nerves while Mr Chong was passing out the test- it's all going to be okay, you won't fail, you've studied for this! And, lets be honest, if things get bad you can always compare your grade to Emily's for mum. Even though Emily was my best friend, she usually was my ticket out of sticky situations with my mum... it's not that Emily wasn't smart, in fact, I think she's going to make it big one day, but for now she usually gets a lower grade, and I'll take any advantage- a way out, and she'll never know.

Cassie pulled a cute face, not that she needed to pull a face to be cute, even though she was the smartest out of all of us and didn't even need to try, she was the shortest and had just the right face to be super cute.

On the topic of my friends, When Cassie comes to mind Alex follows. Alex was sort of the joker in our group, with long hair that she braids everyday, she sort of reminds me of Rapunzel, but that's another story. Then there's Isabel, she's smart and really really pretty- like model pretty. Emily, as I mentioned before, is loud, lazy, the most developed of our group and completely in love and obsessed with books.  Oh and let's not forget Chloe, she was the glue of our group, if you will. And then there's... well, me. Not sure how to explain myself, but then it will get revealed as this story goes on, won't it? Anyway, I have an Indian origin, born in New Zealand and practically raised in Australia. I suppose there's not much here, I don't have a weird obsession, tendancy , anything. Nothing noteworthy that I could thnk of.

I mentally sighed whilst looking through the test. I'm obviously going to need help.

"Cassie! Pssss! Cassie!" finally she jerks to attention.

"What?" she whispers unintentionally harsh.

"Give me some answers, please?"

"Fine... if we get in trouble, I am so blaming you, no question." Then she begins to whisper the answers quickly while I scribble on my hand hurriedly. Yes! Answers! Good, now I need to hurry it up, we need to get this done as fast as possible so Chong Dragon doesn't explode on us.

Finished! Finally! I raised my hand to put my test in for submission when suddenly-*pssst*

"Ria! Your hand!" Wait, was that... Nathaniel Samilton. No way. Arrogant, jock, d***head, the list of adgectives goes on, but he does have a point. I lowered my hand while giving him a glare. Better not give me any trouble for this, Samilton, I thought to myself.

I quickly raised my other hand and Mr. Chen came and collected my test. I breathed a sigh, it's over.

I walked out of the classroom to wait infront of Mrs Niakes.

I'll just have to advoid Samilton for the rest of the term.
