CChapter 2- Get Your Horrible Disease Ridden Hands Off Me!
Truth be told, after my almost run in with Chong Dragon and exchange with Nathaniel, I was scared. Scared, afraid and waiting for the inventible. I was afraid that Nathaniel would tell someone; I was scared that Chong Dragon had seen. I was waiting for something to hapen to me in a way of repercussion.
Regardless, I was scared and afraid, and my friends picked up on it.
"What's wrong, Ria?"
"Are you Okay?"
"Do you need cheering up?"
"Can you tell us?"
These mostly from Chloe and Emily. I answered all of their questions with some variation of
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Exam stress, you know." I guess that excuse worked after a while because eventually they stopped voicing their concerns.
-
the voice inside my head was screaming at me while walking to Chinese. I tried to ignore it; this feeling usually exploded in my head when upcoming exams or tests needed to be studied for so I thought it was unfounded. But boy was I wrong.
The Chinese lesson itself went relatively smooth, if a little slow. What really was the problem was the 5-minute break between Chinese and English.
It started with Chong letting us out early, which was a treat in itself but meaning Cassie and I had to wait for the others for another 5-minutes. So we waited until their Chinese room rushed out, eager to get to their next class presumably to gossip for the next couple of minutes. Still, we waited. This was normal, as Chloe and Emily take a while to pack their sholder bags, as they were the only two to carry bags in the grade.
Okay, this was taking way too long.
I glanced at Cassie then took a peek in. Chloe was talking to Mrs Niakes, Emily was reading her kindle and Izzy was drawing what looked like vines and flowers on her diary. This was so not worth my time, I think I'll go wait down at the classroom, give an excuse to Mrs Kelly if they were too late.
I almost got to the bottom step when someone yanked me down and to the side. Three guesses what it was? Yep, that's right. Ultimate clichéd moment and method from Nathaniel Samilton.
Ew, he touched me.
"What are you doing?" I said angrily. He ignored me, too focused with his own tirade.
"- And I can't believe you take that long to get out of class, I mean don't you have anything better to do or are you a teachers pet? And making me wait that long. I mean-"
"Excuse me, but I did not make you wait for me! You did that voluntarily. You do know what that means right? It means of one's own free will. Now, if you would get your horrible disease ridden hands off of me. I will be going now."
I turned to walk away when he stopped me with a hand on my sholder.
He obviously did not understand the 'do not touch me' message I had been trying to convey or the fact that I was walking away... He really was thick headed.
"What?!" I said, annoyed now.
"I have something to ask you, Pet."
"What did you just call me?" Ugh, worst, un-original nickname ever.
"Because you're a teacher pet, no?" Gosh, his accents annoying. Can I go now?
"Right," I said, drawing out the 'I' to indicate my sarcasm. "Well what do you want? I actually do want to get to my next class on time, thank you."
"See! Teachers pet! " He said, ecstatic that he thought he was right.
"Whatever. Hurry up and tell me what you want!"
"No way, why would I do that when It's just so fun tormenting you?" he said, leaning in to trap me between the wall. Nuh uh, don't like this one bit. Is this his usual seducing method? If so, it sucks. I sighed. I guess I'll just have to wait him out.
He waited, stalling, staring at me. But when he spoke, it was barely a whisper.
"I need you to tutor me. I don't understand anything around here. You've been here long enough. You know what's going on. What do you think? 25 bucks an hour, twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays at the library, steady income of $50 a week." He looked kind of desperate. Plus, Shopping money!
"Fine. See you tomorrow with the correct equipment that you want to use." With that I saw the rest of my friends so shrugged him off to join them. Again, his voice stopped me.
"For the record, My hands and the rest of my body, are not disease carriers. Unlike someone." He said. Nodding to my group.
"You better not say that again Samilton, or I will tear your head off. Do not insult her ever again or we are done and you will be floundering around on the last ranks of social status with all those dumb people whose future only holds janitor jobs." I gave him a glare and ran to join my friends.
"-But just imagine it! Slow dancing, dates, babies, marraige-" Issy was inturrupted by Emily.
"Ridding off into the metaphorical sunset." She jutted in, smirking at me as I joined the conversation.
"Yeah Chloshmo! you could live a long and happy life in those little village sessions your always going on about!" Alex added.
"Oh! but don't forget seperate houses! we really don't want to hear it while you and Oldie get it on." Emily said slyly, winking pervertedly at Chloe.
"Emily!" She shouted, smaking Emily on the arm.
"Ha! you know its true." She said as we finally reached our classroom to grab our lunches.
"I hereby dedicate the window seat to Ria." Emily annonced. That was where we sat at lunch, I'll exlain more laer but first I need to kill Emily.
"Chloe! Kill her for me."
Emily glared at Chloe, daring her to make a move. And she did.
With a 'native indian' yell, Chloe sloshed water at Emily, Effectivly soaking Emily's uniform.
"Oh , your so dead." Emily promised, and flew at Chloe, who looked terrified. She had a right though. Emily was positivley frightening when she gets into her "Die" mode, as we call it. Despite being perpetually lazy, Emily will run when you piss her off. She'd usually scream some obsainities at you whilst doing so.
Chloe doesn't help her case though, occasionally flinging more water back at her to keep her rilled up.
In other words: you do not want Emily mad at you.
-
Chloe finaly proposed a truce and the two freinds fell on to the grass, completely soaked and laughing.
