Brianna

After school, I decided that I was ready for a little skin action, if you catch my drift. Yes, I was on the bleachers watching the guys play basketball. The sweat didn't make it any better, it dripped nicely off their fitted chests.

I just moved here from Virginia, it wasn't my attentions, but my Grandma assisted that I should come all the way to Cali. To leave all of my friends was a complete burden.

I grabbed my journal from my bag and began to write in it. This is something that I kept with me everywhere I went, even if it was just down the street I kept it in my bag to jot down certain events or my feelings that I just can't take anymore. I bought it when my mother died, it help me cope with the pain and stress. When you lose a family member, it's never easy.

"Hey, Bri. I didn't know you were in town, girl." A familiar voice said as I quickly shut my journal together.

I was sort of uneasy, I hate when people sneak up on me, but that voice.. Was it?
I looked up at the intruder and squinted my eyes a bit, "Eva?"

"The one and only. Grandma said you were in town, but I didn't know you were admitted into school so soon. She doesn't tell me shit now and days." She chuckled and gave me a warm smile.

I haven't seen my cousin Eva ever since we were younger.. Come to mention it, her parents weren't alive as well. I swear we were cursed, it felt like it anyway.

"Hey, sit down." I smiled. "You're blocking the view, ma'am." I didn't lie, she was blocking the view. As soon as she sat down, I saw Chris dribbling the ball across the court.

He stopped in his tracks and looked at me; my cheeks immediately turned hot. Sure, he was attractive, but it was something about him that stood out. The sun was doing his body a favor, his sweat was dancing on his chest. His body was well built as if stayed in the gym. He was the quiet, smart and reserved type that keep to themselves -- I liked that about him, but he kept staring at me as if my eyes were hypnotizing him.

"He is probably reading your mind. He is a vampire, you know? Unless, old gramps hasn't taught you how to 'block'," Eva said, snapping me out of my train of thought.

"He's what? H-how?" I looked at her, raising both of my eyebrows.

I already knew what he was and what he was about. I didn't want Eva knowing that I actually have had an encounter with him. If she knew what he did, he would have been dead.

"He's a vampire, silly." she chuckled, pushing her glasses to a firm fit. Her eyes were grey like mine, but she always had to wear glasses.

Her golden curls were an excellent fit for her, she always kept her hair in a messy bun and refused to let it down. When we were younger, the boys used to follow her around and now, she's just a beautiful mess. I don't mean that in a bad way either, but me? I used to have nice straight black hair that I would go to a shop to get it done. It seem like my new do had fit me more though. It is short and choppy and it doesn't get in the way when I'm working -- it was effective.

"Oh, yeah, I kind of figured. No human has a body like that." I joked, putting my journal away in my bag along with the pen.

"Really, Bri? You like 'em like that do you now?" I saw her as she looked onto the court. Her smile had completely went away.

"What's wrong, E?" I looked onto the court and saw that Chris was talking to the guy that I was talking to earlier in class. "Is there something wrong with Michael?" I wasn't going to call this guy by his nickname, it sounded childish to me.

"I'll tell you later when there aren't as many ears, you know they can hear well." She gave me a stern look and then frowned.

I knew she was serious, but what did he do to make her feel some type of way? He didn't give me that vibe that Chris did when I first saw him. It was odd.
