~ Chapter 3 ~ The Faeries - and no, they're not little, sweet and sparkly ~
It could just be a coincidence, I think, desperately. But...
It's just like me. Trying to convince myself that it's a nightmare, or I'd misheard, but I knew that... maybe he's right.
"Is this some kind of dream?" I ask eventually, but immediatly regret it when I feel a pinch on my arm.
"No, then," David grins, when he sees me jump and rub my arm. His grin fades and he adds, "I think I'm going to turn the dreaded Let's-Interview-Blu thing to explaining..." he's about to carry on when Miss I'm Amazing comes over.
"Daviid," Rachel says in her nasally voice, flipping her hair ("Which has got aall of the different shades of browwn you knoow,"). "Mr Gale said we need to set up the hall for P.E,"
David ignores her. "Okay, talk to you later, Blu," and runs back inside to set up, while Rachel does her siganture eye squint, but she always does it, it's like a habit, and says, "Why was he talking to you?"

"Wow, why were you so late?" Black Diamond asks me.
I startle. I've been thinking about how everyone I walk past in school now have the gold pupil silver line thing, but I have a silver pupil and vice versa. "Sorry, what did you say?"
"Why were you so late?"
I check my watch. "Woah, 7:42am, I'm sorry, I was talking to David."
All of my group turns their heads sharply towards me, frowning.
"What were you doing?" asks Teresa, seeming doubtful.
Commiting murder acrording to their expressions.
"You see... my eyes -"
The tension loosens a great deal, and everyone resumes what they were doing - which is chipping the nail varnish off their nails.
"Oh, ph- I mean, yeah, David was going to explain about faeries and everything this evening to you 'cos everyone was thinking: "Why hasn't she awakened yet?" but now I guess you have now. Lol," Alice looks at me, feigning seriousness. "I'm not making much sense to you, am I?"
"Not one bit." I say, smiling.

"Aunt Flannery, I just have to meet someone - see you - bye!" I say, my eyes popping as I noticed she had the faerie eyes thing too.
I'm in a rush, I'd said to meet David at the park at six but it's already five fifty-eight. It usually is a two minute walk, though. I know I had to tell my aunt where I'm going, since I live in such a busy household: there's Aunt Flannery, who's technically the boss and the midwife, taking care of us all, and has seven kids; Uncle Ed, who is always at work; Tez, and Gerrald with their new child, my new cousin, George; Flannery and Ed's children: Tom, who's my popular cousin in my year; Vanessa, a stereotypical sixteen year old who always wants her nails professionally done every day and wear make up; Matthew, a seven year old obsessed with tech, science, and is quite likeable; Fred, seventeen, who always teases Vanessa and plays pranks on everyone; five year old Daphne who's intelligent, sweet, but can be stern and is mature and probably the most sensible in the house; Danielle, a ten-year-old girl who's full of herself and not sweet at all; and Nathan, a boy counterpart of Vanessa. A busy household - so it's a must for me to tell Aunt Flannery about where I am to cause her less confusion.
It's hot but windy, my favourite weather, as I walk down the lane, brushing my grey-brown hair out of my face. I think about what David had said two days before. I'm not being fussy or anything, it's just that my eyes aren't exactly... blue. They're a pale, pastel grey. I don't really care though. He's a really sweet person...
