"Right are we all ready? Ollie come here sit and watch Peppa, whilst we pack the car, uhm...twins and Eth you stay here too, the rest of you grab a bag and carry it to the minivan, careful Maximus!"

Ethan, the twins and Ollie walk off into the living room. I grab a holdall and carry it outside. We had to order a mini van to get everyone and everything in...the cons of having a large family.

7 suitcases and 3 holdalls later (plus hand luggage) and we're ready to go.

I pack the buggy and get Ollies car seat - the twins and Ethan are going without theirs, we cant deal with those to carry as well.

I have assigned everyone to their children - that sounds weird??

Jared has Ethan of course, Aimee has the twins (with the help of Jared and Josh) Then Josh has Noah and I have Max and Ollie.

On the plane we have 2 sets of 4 and a set of 2.

We're gonna move about a lot but to start with, Josh is with Aimee and the twins, I'm with Ollie, Max and Noah and Jared is with Ethan.

I plug Max in then put Ollie in his car seat.

Right have I turned on the burglar alarm, shut all the windows and locked the door...yes I have. Everyone else is plugged in and we begin to move towards the airport. I pull out my phone.

I know he's sleeping, but oh well.

We arrive at the airport and with difficulty check in all our bags, unfortunately we had to check in the pushchair too, so now we have 2 whiney children and a 1 year old who wants to be carried constantly....for 2 hours...in an airport.

Great.

"Cattie get back here you can't just run off!" I nearly scream at her. It seems we have to constantly hold on to them to keep them with us.

We eventually kill the time and its time for us to board. We settle into our seats for our 24 hour plane journey, luckily most of the children are quite tired. We sit where we all planed and go over the rules for the plane.

"You can't leave your seat until you ask, not even for the toilet, try to sleep a little bit and no screaming or shouting, there are other people on this plane, and no violence. If you do then you will be sitting with me alone, okay?" I warn them all. "Right okay now this flight is really long, so I want no 'are we there yets' because I will tell you when we are nearly there. Buckle up now!"

I buckle in Ollie who immediately starts fidgeting.

"Ollie you are going to have to sit still, and stay there for a long time. Do you want your cushion and blanket. He nods and I wrap his blanket round him and his pillow for his head. I buckle myself and Max in then the air hostess goes through the safety stuff, then we take off.

*5 hours later*

Ollie is on my lap sleeping, Ally is hanging upside down in his seat, Max is on the floor sleeping and Noah is in his seat trying to do a crossword, which I am trying to help him with. Not to mention the kicking to the back of my seat coming from Cattie, the snoring from Josh and the crying from Ethan, who new he had a phobia of planes?

"Sorry but I'm afraid she is going to sit on her seat properly and this one simply cannot sleep on the floor" The air hostess tells me.

"Okay sorry!" She has already told Jared that Ethan is disrupting people, despite how many times he told her he has a phobia!
