Kiku POV
I woke up screaming. It normally didn't happen like that... but when I looked at father, he smiled through tears and hugged me.
"Why are you crying?! Did I do something? I'm sorry," I immediately shouted. He shook his head.
"No... You woke up," he cried. My hand flew up and brushed across the surface of my head... I found no remaining locks of hair. I halted the tears that threatened to pass my eyelids' barriers. "You were in a coma for two days. I'm so glad you woke up!"
I said nothing, but tried to stand. I barely had the strength, but managed. I put my hat on.
"I-I'll be back, father. I just need a walk," I said. He nodded.
"Please, don't take too long, and save your strength."
I left swiftly, and went on to see the Orphan Boy who was probably worried sick.
I never want him to find out about my pain and my treatments. I never want him to find out why I missed two days... I want him to stay blissfully ignorant and happy... and optimistic.
