Kiku POV
There were things I wished not to discuss... There were things I wished not to think about...
But everything comes to nothing fast. I was deteriorating. I'd be leaving father behind. I'd be leaving Orphan Boy behind...
I'd be leaving the beautiful world behind.
The doctor stepped into my room as I thought. He forced a smile. (I overheard the other doctors saying he was never happy and never smiled) I looked him in the eye, and his smile diminished.
"Hello, Kiku," said the doctor whose accent nearly made it hard to understand him. I nodded. "How are you? You're looking quite better."
"I'm not feeling quite adequate," I answered. "Do me a favor."
"O-oi... I suppose--"
"I want you to adopt a boy from the Orphanage. I'll tell you his name later," I said. The doctor, named Doctor Kirkland, drew back in surprise. I stood and put on my hat, and left before the doctor could say anything more. I held a small plane, and fought of tears that threatened to fall out over my eyelids.
I stepped up and saw the happy and optimistic Orphan Boy... I could tell he didn't know the world was so pessimistic.
He tossed his plane, and I tossed one. He seemed confused, and quickly opened it. I waited a moment, then left. Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I heard him shout through his window:
"I only wish to know your name!"
I suppressed my answer and tried to run forward. I saw father running toward me... Then I saw two of him. Then he was sideways... Then... There was darkness.
