A Call from Danielle

My first week at Benton had been going smoothly. I hung out with my new friends, gushed over Adam, and finally switched phones. I explored the beaches and unpacked all my clothes. My room was in the process of being decorated and everything was fine. But as a Foster, I should've known, that all good things come to an end.

I was just laying on my bed, scanning through Pinterest for bedroom ideas, until I heard my mom squeal. I slowly got out of my bed and went to check out what was happening. I jogged down the stairs and walked into the living room. My mom and dad were on the couch and were staring at the table. Correction, phone.

"Bye honey! Can't wait to see you!"

"Congratulations, Danielle, baby, we miss you!"

My mom squealed again and hugged my dad, and he looked slightly uncomfortable.

"So, what's with all the tears and squealing?" I asked, loudly.

"The family is going to be visiting, Cece! Isn't that wonderful?" My dad grinned.

I froze. No, this couldn't be right. It wasn't happening.

"Do you mean Aunt Linda and Uncle James?" I already knew the answer, but I was still hoping it wasn't true.

"Of course not, silly duck! Well, actually maybe later, but not at this moment. They could be I gue-" My mom rambled.

My dad interjected, "What your mom means, is that Danielle is getting married! Here, in Benton! So the whole gang will be here!"

Danielle. In other words, she was the spawn of Satan. More like Satan's mother. Even the devil would be afraid of her. Danielle. My sister. The one that everybody loved and I hated.

I actually was not an only child. I had two sisters and an older brother. The reason why I told all my friends that I was an only child was because my siblings got all the glory. I sound like a brat, but it's true. I'm the youngest girl of the Foster family that wasn't special. Yaddy-yah, it sounded like a soap opera, but it was true. My life is The Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless all rolled in one.

"Honey, aren't you excited? You'll see Danielle and Tom again! Isn't it lovely? My mom looked happy and my dad looked a little concerned.

"Oh yeah. I'm totally fine! Just so shocked! I'm gonna go back up to my room now." My dad looked doubtful, but my mom was still glowing with joy.

"I'm fine! Yeah, wedding! Fun! Cool! Super excited! Whoo! Go team," I mumbled.

With that I turned on my heel and sprinted up the stairs. Once I got to my room, and pulled out a box that remained unopened out from under my bed. I ripped the tape off, and coughed at the dust that flew out. I reached in and grabbed the single item placed in the box. My mouth curled at the sight of it. It was a diary. Not just any diary, though. I flipped the page, and frowned at the title.

FAMILY THINGS

Oh, the creativity. I read the first page.

Rick Foster: My daddy. His hair is turning gray. At least he shaved his beard. He never lets me do anything I want.

Pretty dead on for a description that was written by a sixth grader.

Gail Foster: My mommy. Acts weird and embarrassing in front of my friends. Pretty, nice, not good at cooking.

Again, dead on.

Tom Foster: He is smart and good at football. His girlfriend is pretty. He is also a secret nerd. His friends think he is so cool and macho, but he is a nerd and a mama's boy.

Danielle Foster: More like the devil in a dress. Too perfect. Fake. Always makes fun of me. Everybody loves her but she is EVIL!

Too true. Danielle was everyone's favorite, but no one knew that she was really a diva with an attitude. She was blonde, but even Einstein couldn't hold a match to how smart she was. She was sneaky and knew how to get what she wanted. And Danielle was going to come visit us for a wedding. All the attention would be on her, as usual.

I flipped through the notebook and stopped when I saw a certain page.

EVIL THINGS DANIELLE HAS DONE TO ME

1. She dropped me as a baby. NO JOKE. She was jealous that I had all the attention.

2. She ripped up my homework a lot.

3. She dyed my hair green.

4. She snuck almonds into my birthday cake and I got hives all over my body.

5. She told all her friends that I had mental problems.

6. She stuffed my zipper bag with tampons and pads. They spilled out in the middle of class. Embarrassing with a capital E!

7. She stole all my shoes except for a pair of Crocs.

8. She pulled my bikini top off in front of my crush. Everyone called me Flashing Foster. And not in a flattering way.

9.  She stole my boyfriend.

10. She poured water on my pants.

11. She told my parents that I was having sex with my boyfriend. I was thinking about it, but it never happened. I wasn't allowed to go out of the house for a month. My boyfriend broke up with me.

12. My hand hurts. There are too many evil deeds to write.

I winced at all the embarrassing moments that had burned into my mind. And not once did Danielle ever get caught doing these things. Danielle Foster was coming to Benton, and I could do nothing about it.

Sorry for the short chapter everybody! Writer's block killed me. But I really wanted to get a chapter up, so you wouldn't have to wait too long. Foster family to the right! What are your thoughts on the Foster family? Do you like Evil Danielle? Give me feedbacks, peeps! I'll dedicate the next chapter to you! Oh, and I changed Tom to Chris Pine. So yeah. Thanks for the 1k+ reads! LOVE LOVE LOVE You guys!

xoxo,

Tattra
