Prologue

I will never forget that day, i thought to myself as I listened to my music on the bus. It was the first day of school. The same day i met her. Maybe I should take you back to where it all began.....

Chapter 1

It was the first day of freshman year. I was so nervous to be in the high school with all of the older kids. I had just gotten my locker number and combination. I roamed through the hallway, looking at the numbers on the lockers as I passed them. Finally, I found it. Locker number 232. I dropped my suitcase of a backpack on the floor so I could open my locker. It took me five tries to actually get it open. I unzipped my backpack, and isn't it just my luck that everything spills out onto the floor. I knelt down onto the floor and started gathering up my books and putting them in my locker. I reached for my Technology text book when my hand touched something else. I looked up and saw the cutest boy ever! He grabbed the text book and stood up. After he stood up he reached his long arm out to me. I kind of just looked at him, wondering what he was doing. I was so mesmerized by his perfect features. He raised his eyebrow. Finally, i understood what he was doing. He wanted to help me up! Duh! I reached out, grabbed his hand and he lifted me up off the floor.

" umm, here's your text book." The boy said, running his fingers through his dark hair. He gad these big brown eyes. They were like a light, chocolate brown. I blushed.

" heh, thanks." I smiled at him. He smiled back, his teeth sparkling like diamonds. Then i heard the bell ring.

"Shoot! Im late for class!" I shouted. I slammed my locker shut and started sprinting down the hallway.

"Uh, wait! Whats your name?!" Shouted the boy as i ran.

"Brooke!" I shouted back ad i rounded the corner. I checked my schedule to make sure i was going in the right direction. I was. "Good" i thought. I slowed down to a jog as i got closer to my destination. "There it is!" I shouted out loud accidentally. I quickly clamped my hands around my mouth. I slowly walked into the classroom and found a seat in the back of the classroom, hoping the teacher would notice i was late. "Miss Frost your late". Said the teacher. Busted. "Sorry Mr. Montgomery." I mumbled as I slumped down in my seat. "Since its only the first day of school, ill let you off the hook. But don't let me catch you late again!" Said Mr. Montgomery. "Yes Mr. Montgomery". I said getting a pencil out of my pencil case. Well, since i was in such a hurry to get to class, I forgot to grab my pencil! I looked around the floor of the room, trying to find a pencil. Usually there was always a pencil that somebody dropped on the floor. I spotted one a couple desks in front of me. I tried to see if I could slide my foot down and try to pull it towards me but it was too far away. I tried getting the attention of the girl sitting in the seat the pencil was under. "Pssst!" I hissed to the girl. She didn't hear me. I tried again. Louder this time. "Psssstt!!!" I hissed again. Finally i got somebody's attention. But it wasn't the attention i wanted. Mr. Montgomery was glaring at me, steaming with rage! Im pretty sure i was pale as a ghost because i could feel the blood draining from my face. "Thats two Miss. Frost! One more and you have detention! Do i make myself clear?" Asked Mr. Montgomery. "Yes Mr. Montgomery". I replied through clenched teeth. How was i supposed to take notes when i didn't even have a pencil! I guess I'm not taking notes today! I was watching the teacher ( not really paying attention to what he was saying ) when somebody walked through the door. I looked up to see who it was. It was a girl. She had straight blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was medium slim. Not fat but not to skinny. Mr. Montgomery walked toward her. "Class i'd like to introduce you to our new student, Sophie Latter." Sophie skimmed her eyes around the classroom, she seemed to be looking for someone in particular. Her eyes stopped on me, and her face filled with joy and excitement. "Brooke!!! Oh Brooke I've missed you so much!!!" Sophie bolted towards me and wrapped me in such a tight hug that i could barely breath! The confusing part was i didn't even know who she was!
