Chapter 6

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm clock. I rolled out of bed and turned it off. "Brooke its time to get up!" Shouted my mom up the stairs. "Im up!" I shouted back. I looked through my closet and my dresser. I picked out my favorite dress. It was perfect for the fall time. It was a deep, dark blue with orange and red leaves. I usually wore it with my white sandals and black cardigan. I put on the dress and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth, brush my hair, and do my makeup. I didn't usually put makeup on but today i wanted to look good for a special somebody. I don't even know his name! Today I'm going to make my move. I started with mascara. I tried to make it look perfect but my luck isn't that great as you can see. But i managed. Then i put on eye liner. That was easy. Then i put on blush and lip gloss. I decided to curl my hair too. I burned myself a couple times but it was all worth it in the end. Finally, i brushed my teeth and went downstairs for breakfast. I am always so hungry in the morning. I poured myself a bowl of lucky charms and ate it quick so i wouldn't miss my bus. My bus pulled up at the end of my driveway and i hopped on board. I sat down with my best friend Stacey. "Hey Brooke!" Said Stacey. "Hey." I said. "How come you didn't answer the phone last night?" Stacey asked. "You called me?" I asked. "Ya. I called you at like 6:00 and you didn't answer." Said Stacey. I thought back to by conversation with Sophie. Stacey must have called me while i was on the phone with Sophie! "Oh you see you must have called me while i was on the phone with someone else!" I explained to Stacey. "Oh. Who were you on the phone with?" Asked Stacey. I remembered the deal i made with Sophie. She said that if i told someone her secret she would kill everything i loved. I guess it couldn't hurt to just tell Stacey. "I was talking to the new girl, Sophie." I replied to Stacey. "Oh. You guys are friends?" Asked Stacey. "Oh Stacey! Im so scared! I think Sophie might be crazy! I mean as soon as she came into my classroom she declared that we were best friends! And i don't even know her! And then last night she called me! And i didn't give her my phone number! And she said that if i told anyone her secret she would kill everything i loved!" I shouted to Stacey. I panted and tried to catch my breath. It felt so good to get that out of my system. "Oh Brooke! Don't be scared! Everything is going to be ok! Just stay away from her and maybe you can come and spend the night at my house tonight." Said Stacey. "Thanks Stacey. Im so glad to have a friend like you." I said to Stacey and we hugged. I leaned back in my seat and looked out the window. Suddenly a paper ball flew in my window. I opened it up and read it. "Busted" it said. Sophie's name was written in blood under it.
