My heart was pounding so hard i thought it would leap into my throat. I had to save Stacey. My body quickly flew into action. Stacey didn't live to far from my house. I ran out the door, hopped on my bike and started pedaling down the road. I pedaled so fast my bike started swerving. I tried to control it but the next think i new i was flying into a hedge. I got cut on the arm with a stick but i didn't have time to whine. I jumped out of the bush and looked for the bike. It was broken on the side of the road. I didn't have time to linger so i started running. I turned the corner and tried to remember which way my mom turned when she brought me to Stacey's. I went with my gut and turned left. I knew immediately i was on the right road because there was my favorite big house that i always wanted to live in. I knew i only had a little ways to go when i finally reached the house. The door was wide open and a note was stuck to the door frame. I walked over and read the note. " your too late! " it read. No. I couldn't be too late! It only took me a few minutes! Maybe its a trick! Maybe she didn't kill her yet. And she put this note there to make me think she was dead so i would go away. But i'm not gonna fall for it. I marched into the house and called her name. "Sophie! You can't trick me! I know your here!" No answer. Well of course she wouldn't answer me! Duh! I started up the stairs and checked Stacey's bedroom. Nobody. Then i heard water running. It sounded like somebody was taking a shower. It must be Stacey! Shes probably fine! Sophie probably didn't even come here! I walked to the bathroom and the door was closed. I knocked. No answer. She probably cant hear me with the water running. I tried the knob. It was unlocked. I slowly walked in the bathroom. The room was filled with hot steam and smelled like something metallic. I took a deep breath and peeked through the shower curtain, and screamed. Stacey was in the shower, alright. She just wasn't alive. Laying in the bathtub, in a pool of blood, was Stacey. The water was so hot it left a huge red mark on her face. Her eyes were rolled back into her head and her whole body was slashed open. Her skull was caved in and her hair was matted to her head. There was something in her hand. It was her cell phone. I reached into her bloody hand and yanked on her cell phone. It wouldn't budge. I pried her fingers off the phone. I looked at the phone and there was a message to me. It was sent at exactly 4:00. That was one minute ago. That means Sophie must still be here. She couldn't have escaped that fast. She could be anywhere in this house.
