"He is at perfect liberty to kiss who ever he wishes," Hermione repeated for the fourth time today. "I really couldn't care less... But was I under the impression that the two of us would be attending the Christmas party together? Yes."
Fortunately, the weeks where rolling by quickly. But what wasn't rolling by were Hermione and Ron's grudges against each other. Harry and I were currently occupied with Hermione since Ron was with Lavender, and the two of us had come up with a motto; Every moment with Ravnder is a moment wasted.
I sighed with annoyance before making the stack of books in my hands float into their spots by using my wind abilities. There was nothing more annoying than your friend constantly lying about how she really feels.
I looked over my shoulder to see Hermione writing notes down so furiously, that when she dotted the i on her paper, she poked a hole through the paper.
"Okay, so not that this isn't fun and all," I sighed sarcastically, "but I have to go."
"Why? Where?" Hermione asked me suspiciously.
"I've finished my homework, and it's 8:30 so I thought, 'Hey, why not get some extra sleep'," I explained to her as I packed up my stuff.
"Oh, okay see you later," Hermione told me.
"Night, Herm. Night, Harry," I said slinging my bag on my shoulder.
"Uh-huh," was all I got back from him.
Rolling my eyes, I left the library. I made my way towards the common room, climbing the many stairs of this school. Once I was in front of the Fat Lady, and was getting ready to tell her the password, I was interrupted.
"Hello, Bella," a voice drawled, "or should I call you beautiful since that's what it means in Italian."
I turned my head to the side to see Cormic standing there.
"Bella is fine," I said I appealed.
"What every suits your boat," he winked.
"Uh, yeah," I murmured awkwardly, before returning to the Fat Lady. "Dilligrout."
She nodded to me with a smile before swinging open.
"Before you go," Cormic added right as I started to walk through the hole, "I would like to ask you to accompany me to the Christmas Party."
"Uhhh," I sighed apprehensively, looking for an excuse.
That's when I saw Neville. He was reading a book as he carefully walked up the steps that I had walked up not so long ago.
"Sorry," I quickly apologized, "but Neville has already asked me."
His head looked up from his book at the mention of his name.
"What?" he asked, obviously started that his name was even mentioned.
"Remember," I awkwardly chuckled. "You asked me to the Christmas party the other day?"
His eyebrows furrowed and his mouth opened slightly. My eyes widened nervously as I shook my head slightly.
"Oh, yeah. Sure?" he nodded.
"Don't seem so sure, Longbottom," Cormic challenged slightly, his eyes narrowing.
I narrowed my eyes with danger as I crossed my arms. "Well that doesn't matter, I'm going with him and not you. So deal."
His eyes widened in surprised at my attitude. But his whole face was soon over come with a sneer. "Whatever."
With that, he walked past us and into the common room.
