I couldn't wait for the clock to strike 1:45. The end of this absolute bullshit class. Three more minutes. I tapped my pen rapidly on my notebook. A few glances at the clock, back and forth made this wait seem much longer.

"Alright, you're free to go!" My professor beamed.

Maybe I would be as happy as her if this class was actually worth it.

I gathered up my things and threw them into my giant tote bag. I headed towards the dining hall to grab a quick bite.

I took a seat by myself and immediately grabbed my phone out of my bag.

"Hey Ella," I called my best friend.

"What are you doing tonight?" She wasted no time.

"I have no clue, I don't feel one hundred percent," I answered.

"Well, you have to come to this party. This kid in my Pysch class is in an awesome frat and I've heard amazing things about these parties."

"I'll think about it," I taunted her.

"I won't take no for an answer. We live together. I will drag you out with me," she laughed.

"Bye Ella!" I hung up and took a bite of my pizza.

I plugged my headphones in and started to walk towards the bus to catch a ride back to my dorm which was on the complete opposite side of campus. I took my seat on the bus and drifted into the music blaring from my headphones.

Just before I missed my stop, I came back to reality and jumped off the bus. I still wasn't sure about this party and I knew Ella would not allow me to get out of this.

"Hey there pretty lady," she greeted me at the door.

She was being an obvious ass kisser and I wanted to laugh in her face.

"Why do you want me to go so badly?" I whined.

"Lana, you are my best friend. We're partners in crime at these parties. I need my wing girl," she rattled off reasons.

"Fine," I surrendered.

She attempted to high five me, but I denied her.

I immediately excused myself to the bathroom to take a shower and get myself ready for this party.

As soon as I was done blow drying my hair, I swiped a smokey eye across my lids and glued very subtle fake lashes to my eyes. I sprayed my hair in certain spots to keep the volume in place.

"You look hot," Ella joked as I stepped out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready to go.

"You too my dear," I nodded in approval of her dress.

"Hey Lana!" I was greeted by a kid in my economics class.

"Hey!" He handed me a drink and I happily downed it.

The music was loud and the basement was so crowded. I barely recognized anyone and the size of this frat hosue was huge. In the far corner was a large group of girls getting shots for free. All over the room people were dancing on top of each other.

Even though I was well into my second year of school I still hadn't fully adjusted to the college party life. I would never admit it to Ella who would call this place home. Frat parties were definitely fun but there was always a part of me that remained guarded.

"Let's dance," Ella grabbed me.

I totally wanted to join the other girls in the corner and get a few shots in me to loosen me up. I pulled her with me without saying a word.
