"Follow me Jenna. We can't stop now. We have to keep going." Skylar said urgently. Jenna and Skylar crept silently into the dark woods. Everything was quiet, except for the occasional owl and twig snapping. It smelt like pine, and it was a full moon. The two girls lugged their heavy duffel bags and continued.
"Sky, did you see that?"
Skylar came to a halt.
"See what?" Skylar asked suspiciously
"That cottage."
Skylar began to wonder. Was Jenna going crazy or was she telling the truth?
"Jenna, your going crazy."
Jenna looked insulted.
"I am not! Can you please just come with me so we can find out about the cottage?"
Skylar sighed. Jenna was not one to give up on her beliefs.
"Fine. But if we get lost, it's on you."
Jenna led Skylar down a winding path that led to a small cottage.
"See? Come on, let's knock."
"Hold up," Skylar said while grabbing Jenna's sweater to stop her. "What if it's someone who'll report us to the police? We're probably wanted fugitives right now."
"Calm down. I'm knocking."
Jenna knocked the chipping wooden door.
The door slowly creaked open.
A girl with blue hair and a boy with long curly hair stood there.
"Sup. Who are you guys?" The boy asked.
Skylar and Jenna looked at eachother.
"Give us a minute." Skylar mumbled.
Skylar and Jenna stepped away from the entrance.
"What do we say?" Jenna asked, glancing quickly at the entrance.
Skylar thought for a moment.
"We'll just tell them our names."
"But what if they report to the police?" Jenna asked worriedly.
"We'll have to risk it."
The girls went back to the cottage porch.
"I'm Skylar and this is my twin sister, Jenna."
The girl smiled.
"I'm Darcy," she said brightly. "Pleasure to meet you."
She shook Skylar's hand.
"I'm Tim."
He shook Jenna's hand.
Jenna blushed.
Then Darcy took over.
"We're just two normal teens that ran away. We moved into this cottage when we saw it."
"We ran away too." Jenna said.
Tim jumped in.
"Why'd you guys run away?" he asked with his low, raspy voice.
"Well, it's complicated."
Skylar and Jenna were shivering, because it was chilly outside.
"Oh my god! I'm sorry! It must be freezing out there. Come in!" Darcy said while guiding them in.
Tim shut the big wooden door.
The cottage was cozy and simple. It was also quite clean. The walls were
coffee brown, there was a kitchen too. And they had a white leather sofa. There was also 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
"Are you two the only ones here?" Skylar asked while looking around.
"No. There is also Tayra and Darren."
