"Hi Chief Greer, Yes this is Danelle Guidry," I replied into the phone.

"Oh Danelle, I'm so glad you called back I was beginning to think that you weren't interested," he replied.

"I'm sorry, I needed some time to think about it, but I've thought long enough and I'm ready to make my transition, I was wondering if I could schedule a tour of the restaurant before I make my final decision," I replied.

"Absolutely, what day do you have available?" He asked.

"Do you have anything for Friday, I can book my flight now if you're free," I replied.

"Let's see here," he said as he moved over to his desk.

I grabbed my pen and a sheet of my notebook paper and bit down on my bottom lip while grossing my fingers, I prayed that he had an opening.

"Yes we do, Friday morning at 8:30, do you think you can make that?" He asked.

"Yes Friday sounds good," I replied.

"Also Danelle, Friday is our Chiefs convention, Chief's from all over the globe are coming and bringing their best dishes to present them to judges, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind working with me and my crew?" He asked.

"Of course I would to," I replied.

"Okay, we'll make sure you have your badge and your uniform, and I'll see you Friday morning," he replied.

"Okay thanks," I squealed with excitement. "Your welcome," he said right before hanging up.

I scrolled through my contacts and called my girl Cherry. I listened to her ring back tone until she finally answered.

"Hey girl hey," she replied sounding cheerful.

"Hey girl I got some ice cream in the fridge I have good news why don't you come over?," I asked.

"Okay that's fine with me I'll be right over as soon I drop this mail in the mail box," she replied.

"Alright, I'll see you in a few," I replied.

"Alright see you," she replied.

I hung up and went upstairs to take a shower. After taking my shower, I threw on some comfortable clothes along with grabbing some movies along with getting all my junk food. Just as I climbed on top of my fridge for my chips, I heard the door bell ring.

I sighed and jumped down while whipping off my knees. I walked over to the front door and looked out through my peep hole seeing Cherry.

"Hey girl hey," she said as she greeted me with a hug.

"Hey how was your day?" I asked as I grabbed the junk food along with the remote.

"Girl long and boring I clocked in work at the morgue today, them people's was ignorant as hell. Then I had to go by my moms and I clocked in my hours with her doing her laundry and cleaning. I made dinner and had just sent off some mail for her when you called," she replied as she took off her jacket and plopped down on the couch.

"Girl you have been busy, besides me I didn't work today, instead I went out with Terrance's ass," I scoffed as I plopped down next to her while handing her the remote and a bag of M&Ms.

"What's new with Terry? He still with that bitch?" She asked.

"Yes, he took me to the damn court today and had me standing next to him while he got the divorce papers, even after all that something inside of me is telling that he loves this woman, he keeps saying he doesn't want her he only wants me but damn if you don't want her what's so hard about you divorcing her?" I asked.
