Chapter 3 - Friendship isn’t about whom you’ve known the longest. It’s about who came and never left your side. (it wouldn't let me have the title this long...)

This is a filler chapter btw. Just so you understand the relationships between all the characters... and i didn't want to jump straight into Gina and Rachel without explaining why it's Rachel talking to Gina and not Lou... anyway's enjoy :)

Rachel’s POV

Louise had called her earlier that evening. They texted each other all the time, but they only ever had phone conversations on Sundays. It was a tradition of theirs even since Lou had left the show in 2011.

It was a Thursday evening. Rachel was puzzled as to why Lou had called her. She had picked up the phone as she figured it had to be important. Rachel was surprised when Lou mentioned that there was something wrong with Gina. Rachel couldn’t only remember Gina taking off 3 evenings in the whole time they were in the show together. Lou told her that she hadn’t been herself since she had arrived that evening.

Rachel had begun to worry and thanked Lou for letting her know. Rachel knew that Gina and Lou weren’t close, but she couldn’t ever tell Gina that she knew, she could tell Gina was trying to open up to Lou. She had no idea why it was so hard for her, she trusted Lou with her life. She had composed a quick text message to Gina to check up and make sure she was okay; she didn’t want her to feel pressured to tell her anything but she needed her friend to know that she was there for her if she did want to talk.

She received a reply almost immediately. She responded, even though she didn’t expect Gina to read it for a while as it was nearly show time, now it was set that Gina would call her after the show.

Louise’s POV

She took Gina’s hand; she could feel her shiver, although she didn’t want to tell Gina as she knew it would only upset her.  Lou knew that she had done the right thing by calling Rachel earlier. Rachel and Lou had always stayed in touch; they had been very close since the day they met.  Lou could sense that Gina missed Rachel, Gina never opened up to her the way she did with Rachel. Of course they were still extremely good friends but they would never share the bond both of them shared with Rachel.

Lou saw Gina rush off, she knew she wouldn’t be able to catch her, she thought it best to let Gina have some time to herself for a few days.  Lou hated the fact she knew she couldn’t help, but she trusted that Rachel would take good care of Gina, and help her through whatever it was that Gina felt she wasn’t able to tell her.

Gina’s POV

Gina took Lou’s hand and they took their final bow. Gina was exhausted, she couldn’t wait to get home, but she was glad that she had made it through the show.  Although she hated that everyone kept asking how she was, she didn’t want people to pity her.

Gina headed back to her dressing room and changed as quickly as possible. Gina had forgotten how loyal the fans of the show were. She walked out of Stage Door and was greeted by a large group of people. She signed all of their programs and stayed to take photos but she didn’t stop to chat to her fans like she normally did.

Gina headed to the train and finally arrived home at 11:30. She placed her backpack on the table and whipped out her phone as she took a seat on her sofa.
