The Lullaby

Chapter 3

Jeff was starring into complete darkness. There was nothing outside." Where am I, tell me where I am" Jeff screamed. The creature began to laugh. It's laughter rang through the house.

Jeff slammed the door closed and began to cover his ears. Jeff knew that if he could not get out of here, he would go insane.

Jeff closed his eyes, waiting for the laughter to stop. Jeff was losing his mind. Just then, the laughter came to a complete stop. There was nothing but silence.

Jeff slowly lifted his head up. He was in the building that he had fallen asleep in before. Jeff quickly looked up, then he jumped to his feet and ran to the ledge of the 7th floor. The streets were crowded with people and cars.

Jeff sighed in relief. He thought about what the creature said about Jane. Jeff quickly made his way down to the busy street. He ran through the crowd of people on the street. In about 3 minutes, he was at Jane's house.

He ran up to the doorstep. The front door was creaked open. Jeff didn't want to go inside. He didn't know what he would find. Then he thought about what could've happened while he was napping.

After mustering up all the courage he had, and slowly pushed the door opened.

He walked down the hall, past Jane's room, and into the living room. He found Jane's father on the floor with one big hole through his chest. Then, he went to the parents room and found her mother killed too. This made him worry. He walked over to Jane's room. There was blood on the doorknob.

He slowly opened the door. The room was completely dark. Jeff switched the light on. There was clothes that had been ripped up all over the room. But he couldn't find Jane anywhere.
