Flashback to the time when she wasn't a villain.

Yes! I thought. Today, I would be visiting my aunt at her work. She's a scientist. I put on a white T-Shirt, black jeans, and black Vans. I did my hair in a ponytail and went downstairs to eat breakfast. I found a letter from my mom saying:

Dear Heather,
Your dad and I went to go buy some things. Your aunt will pick you up and take you over there to her work. We'll be back in time to pick you up.
Love, Mom

Wonder why they didn't tell me earlier. Oh well. I checked my watch and sighed. A few more minutes. So I flopped on my couch and watched my favorite tv show, SpongeBob. I know it's a show fit for little kids, but who cares? I'm fourteen! Five minutes after the show started, the doorbell rang. I opened it, hoping it was my aunt. It was.

"Heather! How've you been? It's been what, three months already?" She gave me a bone-crushing hug.

"Hi aunt May! I can't wait to go to work with you!" I said excitedly.

"Well, you are my only niece. But you're my favorite!" We went outside and went into my aunt May's car. The ride there was silent except for the sound of the radio. I decided to break the silence.

"So, what type of scientist are you?"

"I specialize in animal behavior and find why they act like the way they do." She replied. That sounds cool. Maybe something that'll interest me later on. Soon, we arrived at this huge building. In huge words, the words Omitech: Powered by People was across the building. Before we went in, my aunt May swiped a card under this thing. It made a noise and a green light showed. Then, the doors opened. Cool! She's like a very important person here! Once we made it in, there was a rack of lab coats hanging. There were names stitched on the the side pocket. I scanned each one. I found one with her name, May.

"Found yours." I said and took it off the hanger.

"Thanks Heather. Now, I'm going to show you a tour of the place. After, I'll show you my work area." We began walking again. She put on her coat. There were many people walking through the hallways. They were wearing lab coats and safety goggles around their neck like my aunt. She had a faster pace, so she would sometimes get ahead and I would get "lost". As I was going to catch up to her, I accidentally bumped into someone. I looked up. It was a woman wearing a white blouse, black business skirt and jacket.

"Who are you? You're not allowed to be in here." Said the woman.

"I-um-me-aunt." I stuttered. Then my aunt May went right next to me.

"It's just my niece, Ana. I'm showing her around the lab."

"Ok. Next time, make sure she's with you." Said the woman. She huffed and walked off. I caught up with my aunt again.

"First, I'm going to show you some of the labs there are here." She said. She swiped the card she used for the front door and a door unlocked. Inside, many scientists were talking. It was more like a business room.

"What's this place?" I asked curiously.

"Here's our chat room. Here, we discuss many of our secret ideas and theories on how to improve an animal's behavior. Then once everything has been decided, we head into this lab." She opened another door, and inside were a few scientists. Some were looking in microscopes while others were studying samples from animals. "We create formulas that are similar to the mental and emotional minds of animals." Hm, this sounds like they experiment on animals to create stuff similar to the chemicals animals give out to know how they feel. Way. Too. Confusing.

My aunt May then showed me the rest of the rooms in the building. Then she asked me, "Are you hungry?"

"Yea. I'm craving some tacos." I said rubbing my stomach.

"You're always craving tacos." She said back. We walked back to the front of the building where the cafeteria was located. I bought three chicken tacos and a Diet Coke. We sat outside on this wooden bench near the roses. It was silent and I hated being quiet.

"So aunt May, have you heard from my parents lately?" I asked after I took a sip from my drink.

"I called your mom three days ago. She sounded a little worried. She sounded shaken up. I asked her if something was wrong but she denied. I tried calling her yesterday and today, but she wasn't answering." My aunt May looked concerned. "I try not to think of the worst." I was indeed scared. Yesterday, I passed my parents room and saw two suitcases. At first, I thought my mom or dad was leaving for a business trip, but then I saw my name on one of them. I asked my parents about it, but they said they were borrowing one of mines.

"I didn't see them today at all. They weren't in the house." I said anxiously. My aunt gasped. "Really?"

"Yea. My mom left a note saying that she went to the store. She hasn't called me back or anything." I said worriedly.

"Maybe she has something to do..." Aunt May said, "Let's not worry. I still have to show you my workplace. We finished our food and went back inside the building. This time, we went to the end of the building. In front of us was a door with a sign in front. I read the sign out loud.

"Warning: Please wear safety gear when inside." I looked at my aunt.

"Don't worry. You're only supposed to wear safety googles and gloves."

"What's in here?"

"Only the best part of this building." My aunt said while giving me safety goggles and gloves. She swiped her card under the scanner. We went inside, and I gasped. I saw various animals from mice to lion cubs. They were in cages, locked up. What type of place is this?!

"Aunt May! This is horrible. This is animal abuse!" She looked at me with a face of hurt.

"We treat them as if they were our own pets Heather. We would never put them in harms way!" She turned to pet a German Shepard but it growled at her. "Now don't be rude, Doc. I have a visitor here." I backed away from the cages.

"Don't worry, they won't bite. Sure, they could be a little edgy, but they would never hurt you." I glanced at one of the cages and saw a baby pug trying to lick my finger. Aww, he's soo cute! I couldn't quite put my finger through since I had the glove on, so I took it off.

"You should keep your glove on Heather..." My aunt said cautiously. I scratched the pug behind its ear and then stopped. I got up and said, "I just let it lick my finger and that's all. It's not like-" I couldn't finish that sentence because I felt something sharp pierce through my wrist.
