The door slammed abruptly. William sighed to himself, he didn't want to have to deal with the new neighbours, he avoided community activity at all cost. He had spent most of his adult life just closing the curtains, blocking out all nuisance and, just for a small portion of time, being content with himself. Trudging back over to the rocking chair, he seated himself once more.
It was at 6:30am the next morning that he woke up, slamming the alarm with his hand, he sat up. William Wilson was about to begin his first day in his new job. Reluctantly, he stood up, bleary eyed and slightly incoherent. He hated his work role already and he had even yet to begin it. It was time to get some slackers into shape.
Ever since the death of his ever beloved grandma, he had become harsh within the dealings of the workplace, occasionally he thought he was too cruel but his exterior never showed it. The change within him shocked the vast majority of his coworkers at the employment he was in at the time her death.
Samuel "Sammy" Jenkins displayed many traits, creativity, cunning and the occasional dabble into practical jokes. Hard work didn't exist in his vocabulary, it was a pointless word. Sammy was a master of procrastination, he fell off of task every five or so minutes, but he didn't mind, neither did his boss. Mr Wilson was a great man, he wanted him to grow to be the best he could be.
Of course, though Mr Wilson was a young, idealistic man, he showed wisdom in his humanity. Sammy genuinely tried to be a good worker when he was around, it was worth it. However, everything changed after she died.
Sammy came into work at normal time on the fateful day of the 24th of September 1985, the normalcy of the day provided him with some relief, he grinned awaiting his boss. As per usual, he sat with his feet on the desk, with hard rock blaring from the stereo.
" Jenkins, get your feet off the desk now!" A once happy and optimistic voice yelled ruthlessly.
