Instead of going to school, I decided to go hunting. Last night after we got Vickie settled down when I came over, Damon told me that I needed warm blood and I needed to do snatch, eat, erase and I'm having some difficulty.
I don't want to hurt any one and Damon knows that. That's why he's also struggling to help me.
I as I drug another body over to a pile of other bodies, my phone starts to ring.
     "Hello?" I answer.
"Adrie, where are you?" Damon asks.
I use the back of my hand to clean the blood away from my mouth before I could answer.
"Uh... stopping for a little breakfast," I say nervously.
     "What did you do?"
Whirling around, I see Damon looking behind me at the pile of bodies. I felt like crying.
     "I... I... I couldn't... I mean... I'm thirsty, Damon," I stutter. "I really wanted to stop and I tried but..."
I trail off as I look at the pile of bodies. Six people I had killed. Six. And the worse part is... I liked it.
"It's okay. Go back to the house and get cleaned. I'll take care of this," Damon says.
I wipe tears away as I nod my head. As I was walking by him, he grabs my arm and looked me in the eye.
"It's what I would want you to do any way," he says in a low voice. "Don't worry about them."
I nod my head and leave with my vampire speed.

As I was taking a shower in Damon's bathroom, I could hear him, Vickie, and Stefan talking about Vickie and her new status and the compass.
"There's nothin' about that Logan guy I killed in here. Not a word," Damon says. "Someone's covering it up."
In a flash, I change into a pair of jeans and a dry knit shirt and made my way to Stefan's room.
When i walk in, I see Damon is playing with something in his hands as he reads the newspaper.
      "What is that?" I ask.
He glances up at me and smiled a bit.
"This is a very special, very old compass. What was Logan Fell doing with it?" Damon responds and looks up at Stefan with a curious look.  "Aren't you curious?"
"Well, if you're so worried that somebody's onto you, why don't you just leave town, Damon?" Stefan retorted smugly.
Damon narrowed his eyes at Stefan "We should all be worried."
"Hey, um, I'm hungry," Vickie says. "Do you have anything to eat?"
     "Here."
Stefan gets up and gets a cup and hands it to her. I could smell it as if my nose was right above it. It was animal blood but it was enough to make my vampire side come out.
    "What is it?" Vickie asks.
     "It's what you're craving."
"Heh. Don't lie to the girl." Damon comments with a smirk. "It's so not what you're craving, but it'll do in a pinch, right, Stef?"
     "What is it?" Vickie repeats.
"Yeah, what is it?" Damon mocks. "Is it a skunk? Saint Bernard? Bambi?"
Stefan ignores him and turns back to Vickie. "Go on. Give it a try."
"She's new. She needs people blood. She can't sustain on that stuff," Damon says.
He glanced up at me when he said that. To be honest, people blood is a lot more tasty the animal blood.
"Yeah, why can't I have people blood?" Vickie asks.
     Damon smiles. "Yeah."
"Because it's wrong to pray on innocent people, Vickie," Stefan answers.
"You don't have to kill to feed. Just find someone really tasty and then erase their memory after wards. It's so easy," Damon shrugs.
"No, no, no. There's no guarantee that you can control yourself, okay? It takes years to learn that," Stefan says. "You could easily kill somebody, and then you have to carry that with you for the rest of your life, which, if I haven't made clear, is eternity.
"Don't listen to him," Damon says with a roll of his eyes. "He walks on a moral plane way out of our eye line. I say snatch, eat, erase. Right Adrie?"
I slowly nodded my head, unaware what he said. To be honest, that blood was distracting me.
"Animal blood is working good for Adrie, isn't?" Stefan asks.
     "Sure," I say.
I was fighting the dry feeling of my throat and Damon saw. He gets up and stands by me.
"Hey, look at me," Stefan says as he turns back to Vickie. "We choose our own path. Our values and our actions, they define who we are."
"Okay, count deepak. We're outta here," Damon says and grabs my arm gently.
As Damon and I go down stairs, i could hear Vickie asking for more blood. How can she even like that animal blood? It's terrible!
"You do realize you're basically desiccating, right?" Damon asks, breaking my thoughts.
"I can't tell him because he's trying to help and-- Elena," I say.
She was standing outside of the door and the bell rings. Damon answers it.
"Adrie, are you okay?" She asks.
     "Animal blood flu," Damon responds.
     "I'm having some... difficulties."
     "Is Stefan here?" Elena asks.
     "Yep!"
      "Where is he?" Elena demands.
"And good morning to you, little miss 'I'm on a mission'," Damon responds with arrogance.
"How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything that you've done?" Elena retorts.
"And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib?" Damon shot back.
"If you wanted me dead, I'd be dead."
     "Yes, you would," Damon agrees.
      "But I'm not."
      "Yet."
A look of fear crossed Elena's features. "Where is Stefan?"
"He's upstairs singing 'The rain in Spain'. Knock yourself out. Come on Adrie," Damon says and grabs my hand

Damon pulls me into the Mystic Bar and Grill and I start to freak out. There were tons of people in here. I could hear their hearts beating and their blood moving through out their body.
"Damon, what are we doing here?" I ask as I hold my breath.
He grabs my hand again. "Relax. You need a drink to help with the cravings."
I gave him a dubious look and he rolls eyes and raises his hand.
"Two bourbons. Neat," he says to the bartender.
She fixes the drinks and gives them to us. Damon slides mine over and downs his.
     "It's that simple."
I sip mine and a burning sensation goes down my throat. I began to cough and Damon chuckles. I put the glass down and he takes it and downs that as well. Damon then glances behind him and I follow his gaze.
Sitting at a booth is Mayor and Mrs. Lockwood.
     "Damon, what are we really--"
"Shh," he cuts me off. "Listen."
Damon and I turn our backs to them and we focused our vampire hearing on them.
"We never should have trusted that Logan...weasel with the watch," Mayor Lockwood was saying.
"How many are we dealing with?" Mrs. Lockwood questionably responded.
"Well, the coroner thinks one Something about the wound radius and the jaw pattern."
Are we in danger? I mean, if it found the watch, then it knows we know, and could it come after us?" Mrs. Lockwood asks in a low whisper.  "A-- and should I even be saying 'it'? Or...or is it a he or a she?"
"If it has any historical knowledge of the town, then it'll know where the watch came from, so yes, we could very much be in danger," mayor Lockwood replies roughly.
     "So what do we do?"
"Just keep it quiet." He lets out a sigh. "We can't have the entire town aware of this. We need to find it before it finds us."
They get up and leave the restaurant. I look at Damon and her beckons for us to go using his head. As we were walking out the door, my phone vibrates. I take it out and I see I have a text from Elena.
Elena: Vickie's trying to see Jeremy. Don't let her. She threatened me when I told her no.
Elena and I might be on the outs and Vickie might be a new vamp, but she doesn't get to put her hands on my sister.

Damon and I walk into Stefan's room looking for him. I see Vicki lying on the bed and I get mad. When Vickie sees me, she rolls her eyes.
"Don't you ever touch my sister again," I say angrily.
     "Or what?" She challenges.
"You do realize I am a little stronger than you and I know what I am doing, unlike you," I retort.
She chuckles. "Says the girl with a blood problem."
I growl and my face changes. I step forward and Damon grabs my arm and pulls me back, grabbing my hand.
"What are you doing?" He asks, changing the subject.
"Just contemplating the next hundred years," she replies with a bored voice and then looked at him.  "Why did you do it?"
     "I was...bored."
Vickie looks at him. "You did this to me out of boredom?"
"It's one of the pitfalls of eternity."
     "What about me?" I ask.
"Stefan mad me mad," Damon shrugs.
"Now I'm bored. And all I can think about is blood. I just want some blood. I can't think about anything else. What is that about?"
"That'll ease up," Damon chuckles. "You've just been cooped up all day. Let's go."
     "Where?"
"Your life was pathetic. Your afterlife doesn't have to be." Damon looks at me and gives me a smile.
Damon grabs my hand again as we follow Vickie down stairs. To be honest, I don't know why he keeps holding my hand. I never really asked him but to be honest, I really don't care. I like the feel of his hand in mine.
I look at our entwined hands and I fought a smile. I could feel his eyes burn on me but I ignored it.  He opens the front door and we were about to go out when Stefan stopped us.
"What are you doing?" Stefan questions.
"She's been cooped up in your room all day. She's not Anne Frank," Damon responds.
"No no. Hey hey..." Stefan stops Damon. "Now's not the time for this."
"If you're gonna teach her. Teach her. Show her what it's all about."
"She could hurt someone," Stefan protests.
"I'm not takin' her to Disneyland," Damon replies and rolls his eyes. "We're going in the front yard. Come on."
He pulls me outside along with Vickie and Stefan follows. A part of me believes that Stefan knows about what I did and what I'm dealing with. If Vickie knows, I'm pretty sure Stefan knows as well.
Stefan interrupts my thoughts. "Bad idea Damon.
"She's a vampire Stefan, she should know the perks. Right, A?" Damon asks as he turns to me.
     I nod my head. "Right..."
     "Like what?" Vickie asks.
      "Like...."
Damon uses his vamp speed to stand behind Vickie. She looked around in awe, amazed by what she had witnessed. She turns around and laughs.
"Whoa. How did you do that? Come on Vicki, live a little," Damon says and smiles. "No pun intended."
Vickie smiles as she kicks off. She disappears into the woods and I look at Stefan with a dropped jaw.  I then turn and glare at Damon.
"Uh...my bad," he says as he scratches his head awkwardly.
     "Damon!" I chastised.
"Stay here," Stefan tells me and Damon. "I'll find her."
****************
****************
****************
As Damon and I waited in the house, I sat on the couch, hoping I would get a call from Jeremy or even Elena. With a frown, I let out a sigh.
"What's going on in the pretty head of yours?" Damon asks
I look up to see him pouring him a glass of bourbon. I throw my phone to my side.
     I shrug. "Nothing really."
"You're not thinking about those people, are you?"
"No," I say as I shake my head. "It's something else."
"Like what? Is it about Vickie?" He pressed. "About what she did to Elena?"
"No, well, I'm still a little pissed about her hurting and threatening Elena, but no," I say. "It's more about the fact that I--"
"I found Vickie," Stefan comes crashing through the door.
I look at Damon then at Stefan. I grab my phone and my jacket.
"I'll go with Stefan," I declare.
Damon grabs my arm. "No. Stay with me."

****************
****************
Damon and I walk into the Mystic Grill and I instantly spot Mayor Lockwood and Mrs. Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood says something to Mrs. Lockwood and then he gets up and walks towards the door.
As he passes Damon and I, he gives us a smile and I smile back.
"What are we doing?" Shouldn't we get Vickie?"
"Relax. I have a plan in motion," Damon responds.
"And what would that be?" I demand as I cross my arms. Damon didn't answer so I repeated the question. "What would that be?"
He sighs with annoyance. "I'm going to get into the council so I can fix vampire problems and they won't suspect me, you, or Stefan."
"Jenna's not on the council though," I say. "So, I think they would-- No. I don't want to be on the council!"
"Adrie, please," Damon begs. "For me. Please."
I look into his pleading eyes and I sigh. If it'll make him happy that I am willing to help him, then I guess I will.
     "Fine."
As Damon and I walk over to Mrs. Lockwood, he places his hand on my back. We sit down in front of her where Mayor Lockwood was once at.
     "Elena?" Mrs. Lockwood guesses.
"Adrie, actually," Damon responds before I do. "Let me guess. Daisy Buchanan. I love a good 'Gatsby' look."
She smiles at Damon. "I've met you before. Aren't you Caroline Forbes' boyfriend?"
"Ah, she had a schoolgirl crush on me but..." Damon waves his hand as if he was brushing off the subject. "It was cute but I had to let her down easy."
"I heard you two have spending a lot of time together recently," she says as he eyes switches from the two of us.
"I have been having to... car issues and Stefan is helping me with them," I lie.
She nods her head. "It's Damon, right?"
     "Ah, you remember?"
"Well, you have a face that's hard to forget. What's your last name Damon?"
I begin to feel something bubble up inside of me. I knew she was flirting with him but why would I become angry and mad?
"Salvatore," responds Damon, knocking me out of my thoughts.
     "Salvatore," she repeats.
     "Mm hmm."
"Are you any relation to Zach?" She asks.
"Zach's my uncle," he lies and leans forward. "How do you know Zach?"
I could tell Damon is attempting to  use compulsion on her but it wasn't working for some reason. Something silvery catches my eye and I look at her wrist and I see a bracelet. Vervain.
"Are you okay?" She asks Damon.
"Yeah. I think there's something in my eye," Damon says as he leans back and rubs his eye.
"Well, I know Zach from the Founder's Council," she rambles. "You know the Salvatores were one of this town's original settlers."
Damon: Yes, they were. So are the Gilberts," Damon says and grabs my hand from under the table. "I wasn't aware that Zach was a member. I just recently moved back home and haven't really had a chance to meet many of his friends."
"Well, will you tell him to return my calls? I've left several messages."
"Damon, didn't Zach go out of town for a bit?" I ask as I look at him.
Damon plays along. "I think so."
"But if it's about the Vervain..." I say and trail off.
Damon looks at me with a small smile. Mrs. Lockwood's eyebrows rose with surprise and she leans forward.
"You know about the Vervain?" She whispers.
"Well, I'm a Gilbert and Damon is Salvatore. Of course I do." I shrug. "Elena and Jeremy do not know. Only me."
"Of course," she smiles and sips her drink.
"So you need vervain?" Damon asks.
"Yes. my husband and I only have left what his parents left him," she explains, "and Zach had promised that he could supply us with more."
"Well, I talk to him all the time," Damon fibs. "So why don't I just ask him?"
Mrs. Lockwood takes it into consideration.
"Mmm. How much do you need? I mean, how many people, you think?"
"Well, there's our children, of course," she says.
     "Of course," Damon agrees.
"And, um, friends, family, and everyone on the council," she says and sips her martini.
     "The council?" I ask.
"Zach knows how many," she responds cryptically. "But I am so late. My husband is not going to be happy with me."
"Well, are you happy with your husband?" Damon flirts.
I slowly pull my hand out of his, being nonchalant about it, but he notices. I rise from my seat with a smile.
"I have to call my Aunt," I lie. "It was. It was nice talking with you, Mrs. Lockwood."
Before Damon could protest, I leave quickly and I use my vampire speed to get to the school to help Stefan and Elena with Vickie.
****************
****************
****************
I walk into the school and I spot Stefan instantly. It was a lot harder for me to focus my senses on one person because all of the noises that was going one.
     "Stefan!" I holler
He turns and sees me. "Adrie. Where is Damon."
"Here. Somewhere," I respond as I roll my eyes.
I hear Elena scream Vickie's name and Stefan and I take off to the back entrance of the school where Elena was fending off Vickie and Jeremy was hurt.
Elena hits her with a wooden plank and then Vicki grabs her and throws her into a pile of garbage nearby. Stefan goes forward and grabs Vicki and holds her against the bus.
I help Elena up and started to go help Jeremy but then I saw the blood. Stefan saw and he looks at me.
     "Adrie," he says.
Vickie disappears and I began to search for her frantically.
"Go. get inside. Go!" Stefan commands.
Elena grabs Jeremy and runs for the door while I look under busses for Vickie and Stefan helps. Just then, I hear Elena scream. Vicki pushes Jeremy out of the way and grabs Elena. Her face changes and she bites Elena.
Rush at Vickie and her hand goes into my chest. I gasp and choke at the feel of her hand around my heart.
"There it is," she says sinisterly. "Can you survive without your cold, dead heart?"
I feel a little pull as she clenches my heart tighter. Elena hits Vickie with a board and Vickie's hand is pulled out of my chest. She goes back towards Elena.
Without thinking, i pick up a piece of wood and I stab Vickie without hesitation. Too be honest, I didn't even feel bad about it. It was something that had to be done.
I hear Jeremy's cries as he calls out Vickie's name over and over again. That's when I started to feel bad. I just killed my brother's love.Stefan was holding Vickie back and Elena stared at me with wide eyes as she clutches her side.
"Elena, Stefan, get Jeremy out of here," I command. "Now. Go!"
Stefan calls Damon and then he leaves with Elena and Jeremy. I don't know what was said between the two of them, partly because I didn't care at the moment.
As tears go down my cheeks, I fall to the ground and sit besides Vickie's body. I hear footsteps and I turn to see Damon. Anger bubbled inside of my like a volcano about to erupt.
"You should go. I got this," Damon says.
I stood up fast. "You did this. This is your fault."
"You confuse me for someone with remorse," he retorts.
I try to hit him but he grabs my hand and stops me, giving it a light squeeze.
"None of this matters to me. None of it," he whispers and releases my hand.
"People die around you. How could it not matter?" I ask as more tears fall. "It matters, and you know it."
This time, I did him him. He looks at me with wide eyes. He let's out a small groan and I realize my mistake.
He flinches and I flinch as well.
"You need to leave," he says. "Your blood is on your shirt and you need to leave."
I take off running at full speed and didn't stop until I got to my house. Elena pulls up and I see Stefan is waiting.
"How did you get here before me?" Elena asks me.
     "I ran, Elena."
Elena nods her head once and looks at Stefan. "Where is he?"
"Inside," Stefan says and motions his head to the house.
Elena started to go inside but then pauses at the door. I watch as she turns to look back at me.
     "You coming, Adrie?"
With a small smile, I nod my head and follow her up to Jeremy's room. As he sat on his bed and cried, my heart broke. It's Mom and Dad all over again. Elena walks over to him and kneels in front of him.
"Do you understand what happened tonight?" She asks.
"No," he shakes his head. "I don't understand. I mean, I know what I saw, but...I don't understand."
I touch his shoulder. "She was going to kill me and Elena. And if we weren't there, you."
     "Now she's dead. Vicki's dead."
"I'm so sorry, Jer," Elena whispers.
"Make it stop. It hurts," he sobs.
"Shh, shh, shh, shh," I shush as I hug him. "It's okay. it's okay."
"Why does everybody have to die on me?" He asks as more tears come down his cheeks.
I couldn't take no more. I got up and left as a waterfall of tears came pouring out like a flood. I go out on the the porch and sat by Stefan.
"It's my fault, Stefan," I cry. "Vickie's dead because of me. How can that be explained to Jeremy or... or even Matt?"
"You did what you had to do, Adrie," he responded with an understanding calmness. "I would've done the same thing but you beat me to it."
Even though he tried to make it a joke, I could tell he was really upset about Vickie's death. I'm even upset about it. I really wish it didn't had to come down to that last resort.
Elena comes out onto the porch and I stood. She almost looked worse than me but Jeremy...
"Are you okay?" She asks us.
"I, uh...I wanted to help her. But instead, uh..." He stutters but the changes the subject. "How's he doin'?"
"He's a mess," Elena admits. "I don't want him going through this again. He's just a kid.'
"Elena, what can I do?" Stefan pleads and looks at me. "I...What can we do to help? We'll do anything."
     "Can you make him forget?"
     "Elena..."
"Stefan, please," Elena begs. "I don't know how he'll ever get past this. I just want him to forget everything that happened."
"If I did it, there's no guarantee that it would work...Because of who I am. Because of how I live. I don't have the ability to do it right."
Elena looks at me and I shrug. "I could tr--"
"I can do it," Damon's voice comes from behind us. "If this is what you and Adrie want... I'll do it."
"It's what I want," Elena assures.
I couldn't meet Damon's look, even though I knew he was looking at me. I look over to see Elena was waiting for my vote.
     "Adrie?" Damon asks softly.
With a sigh, I nod my head bit still refused to meet his eyes. They were burning holes through me.
"What do you want him to know?"
"I want you to tell him that Vicki left town and she's not coming back," Elena says.
And then I add, "that he shouldn't look for her or worry about her. He's gonna miss her, but he knows it's for the best."
I finally looked up at Damon before he went inside. Elena and Stefan sit down next to each other.
"Part of me wishes that I could forget, too..." Elena pauses and look down before she could continue "Forget meeting you, finding out what you are and everything that's happened since."
At the last part, she looks up at .e and I look at me hands.
     "I don't blame you," I agree.
"Is that what you want?" Stefan asks.
Elena nods her head with sincereness. "Yes, it is. Because I don't want it to be like this. I don't wanna feel like this. But I can't. With everything that's happened... I can't lose the way I feel about you."
Stefan opens his mouth to say something but Damon comes out.
"It's done. Adrie, can we talk later?"
I nod my head but then looked at Elena. "But maybe tomorrow. I'm gonna stay here tonight."
Damon nods his head and I give him a small smile before Elena and I head into the house.
