Soft As A Cotton Piano Tune

My soft blue eyes, they glance across this room,
To a piano's cotton song, they take in the light and colour.
My mind's eye, even more powerful still,
To the tune of this sweet melody, I play memories through again.

Memories of sweet introductions made on a railway platform.
As excitable as I seemed back then, nervous my heart was!
As quickly as you were there, with me,
You were gone again, in a flash of blue and colour.

Now every time we meet again, our eyes as blue as each other's,
That quiet, vibrant love returns to your eyes.
Part of me wishes that times current could be as simple as that first time,
Part of me wishes I could go back to that first encounter of you,
And take away my excited nervousness.

But as the piano's melody begins again, the memory echoes again.
I come to see that the situation was perfect.
I didn't hold back, my love. That day
You saw me, for the first time, for all that you make me feel.
You saw me for all that I am.

I didn't hold back, my love, for I simply do not know how to be anyone other than myself.
