The Daughter of Ninetails

Chapter 9

Tentails gazed at the inside of the giant ship. It was huge! From where she was standing, there were stairs leading up to a large platform. There were five paths leading away from the center. The center was a large cylinder portal. There was a beam of light coming up from the cylinder offering stage. There were stairs leading up to it, so you could be transported to somewhere she didn't know. The paths lead to different halls. Above the doors to the halls there were etchings of demons. One was a warrior, so that had to be Blight. Another was a spider, so that was the Spider Queen. Another was two owls, so that was the twin demons, Lechku and Nechku. One was a stage with 8 serpents on it, so that was Orochi. And the last one......... She gasped. It was Ninetails! The etching was of the beautiful demon fox shone a radiant blood red. Now that she noticed, the ship shone red were there were supposed to be blue. It must have been a sign of evil still left in the Ark.

She suddenly heard a shriek beneath her. She looked down, and she saw the spirit of a Celestial. he was on the chubby side, and it looked like his dress-thing didn't fit him. He looked like a merchant. He managed to stutter out some words.

"D-d-demon! S-soon you sh-shall b-be no more! Th-th-the great g-goddess A-amaterasu is h-here! Sh-she'll c-cut you d-down and you'll r-regret it!"

Tentails sarcastically gasped. "Oh no! The great g-goddess A-amaterasu is h-here! I'm doomed!" She curled up in the corner mockingly. "I'm going to wait here, and when Amaterasu comes, I'll jump out and make myself most noticeable while yelling 'Here I am! Cut me down! I don't want to live! Kill me now oh great goddess! I am nothing compared to you!'" She got up and spat  on the ground, then faced the Celestial. "Yeah right. Like I would do that. I'm only on this crazy ship to avenge my mom. So shut up and tell me where Amaterasu is!"

He sighed and pointed in the direction of the third tunnel. Tentails raced of in that direction. When she got there, a great battle was repeating itself.

Amaterasu was battling the Spider Queen. The queen kept on trying to hit the goddess, but she was too fast. Suddenly  three vines sprouted from Konahona blossoms and onto hooks connected on the spider's back. With a shriek the Spider Queen was tossed onto the ground. Amaterasu dashed up her side and started attacking the eyes on her insides. There were only four left when the spider's back began rumbling. With a twisting leap the wolf jumped off the back of the spider just when the folds snapped back together and the queen rose back up.

This process repeated until the last eye was destroyed. The Spider Queen screamed and wobbled, then fell on the ground, dead. The body instantly transformed into a giant flower, then disappeared. A green light shone in the center of the battlefield Amaterasu walked towards it. Tentails realized the goddess would appear soon. She quickly hid. Amaterasu appeared moments later.

There was talking overhead. There must have been a Celestial, a woman by the looks of it. She talked about how this ship killed them all and about Yami too. Wait, Yami? Ninetails said he was dead!? Did she lie? Or was she telling the future? The Celestial said something about being able to rest now, then disappeared. Her spirit was now at rest. Suddenly the markings on the path turned blue. Tentails finally realized something. Amaterasu would have to repeat her wins against the demons to restore the ship.

Which would mean she would have to kill Ninetails again.
