I was having the best sleep of my life, only to be interrupted by a knock on the door.
To be honest, I was expecting to wake up in my bed, in the room I used to imprison myself in, hoping all of this was just some fucked up dream. But I opened my eyes and felt the cold sheets beneath me and the familiar, medieval looking room around me. I sighed.
"Still here, huh?" I muttered to myself as I tried to sit up. Wiping away the sleep from my eyes. I ran my fingers to my messy brown locks to smooth it out. I stood up to get the door, seeing Renade peek from the side.
"Morning." He said with a genuine smile. His hand holding two cups of coffee. I smiled at him warmly and I let him in. He placed the cups on the table as he sat on the chair infront of mine.
I took the cup from the handle. And placed my lips on the rim of the cup, taking in the smell of sweet, freshly brewed caffeine. I smile at the scent and took a sip. The liquid trickling my throat with a burning sensation, leaving a sweet taste behind. I traced my finger on the rim, feeling great.
I looked out the window beside me. It was cloudy. Almost like raining. A perfect day for me. I switch my gaze to Renade, who was staring at me with a smile.
"What?" I chuckled as I placed strands of my hair behind my ear, looking at him.
"This somehow feels nostalgic." He smiled at me as he took a sip in his cup.
I smiled at him. So he feels the same?
"So, tell me. Did they freak out or what?" I said with a chuckle as I took another sip.
He closed his eyes and chuckled, obviously remembering what happened while I was out."Others already knew. While others freaked out. They were even planning on meeting you personally." He said with a smile. I laughed softly.
I looked at my half full cup as I traced my fingers on the rim once again. A thought came to mind.
"Why do you look familiar to me?" I asked and looked at his eyes, waiting for an answer.
"Our faces are from people who benefitted you. Faces from people you either see in crowds or people you've most likely forgotten." He said with a calm voice, taking the last sip of his coffee.
I nodded and drank up all of mine. He stood up from the wooden chair and grabbed both of the cups.
"I have paperworks and researching to do. So I suggest you wander around and meet the other kingdoms. There are people who are eager to meet you." He said with a sheepish smile and left the room.
I went inside the bathroom to take a quick shower. The wardrobe contained my favorite clothing. But I wore simple skinny jeans, a flannel and sneakers.
I left the kingdom, telling Renade I'd be back by 6 in the evening. (If time was even relevant here.) And left to wander again.
After hours of walking, I've come across a kingdom filled with cloud people. I laughed at how adorable they looked. They were basically fog with arms and legs and an adorable face.
Wandering inside, I was greeted by a lady. I was expecting her to look like a cloud too, but maybe all kingdoms are like Renade's. She looked like a cloud though, with her pastel blue balloon dress and cloud accessories, that is.
She gave me a cheerful smile as she held my hand. "I've been expecting you." She said as she dragged me inside her palace.
"I'm Princess Dream of the second Kingdom, Chimera. Welcome." She said bowing like a princess while holding the hem of her dress.
