I woke up panicking. I was panting endlessly and sweating all over. I had a weird dream, rather a nightmare. It was a little hazy but I could remember...
I was holding hands with a pretty lady. She was laughing. Her eyes glistened in the sunset. I was happy. I squeezed her hand. We looked towards the horizon together. She leaned on my shoulder. Then next moment, the scenery changed. It grew dark and scary. There was a background noise that sent shivers down my spine. I looked at her in confusion. But she was not 'she' anymore! She looked at me in devilish smile. Her face started drooping, skin peeling off and muscles exposing. Same thing happened with her whole body. Her hair grew long and wrapped around my arms. I tried to free my hand but failed. I was trapped. I cried out loud but she was merciless. I was pinned to the ground. Her face was slowly but aggressively approaching mine. When she was close enough, she opened her mouth. Saliva dripped from the inside. She wanted to tear my head off.
The agony was too much to bear. That moment my hellish dream ended with me opening my eyes and sitting up in my bed. I was sweating all over. The clock read 03:12 A.M. I got up from the bed to get some cold water from the refrigerator. The house was eerily silent. There was light coming from under Kate's room. 'Still enjoying her vacation!', I felt jealous. I walked back to my room with a bottle in hand. I turned on my PC and surfed the web. (Not that I was too afraid to sleep!)

Morning came around. I was lazy (as usual). Rolling in my bed, I was watching a movie. I had nothing to do until afternoon. Outside was a sunny Thursday morning. The brightness discouraged me to go out.
"Harry, wake up! It's 7 already. Don't you have school?", mother banged on my door.
'Oops! Forgot to unlock it.' I tried reaching the lock with my left hand and almost tumbled down. Unwillingly, I dragged myself out of my comfort zone and opened the door. "Mom, I was awake. And no school today."
"Ehh? What were you doing?", she tried to look around my room for signs of corruption.
I efficiently limited her field of vision by blocking the small opening with my broad figure. "I woke up due to the alarm just a little while ago.", I couldn't tell her that I was up from 3 in the morning and doing useless activities (according to her). She would have been furious. I didn't want a morning lecture!
"Then have breakfast with all of us later at 8, okay?"
Was that really a suggestion? Because her tone made it clearly sound like an order.
"Hmmm!", I shut the door behind me. I was back to my own wonderland.

8:03 A.M...
I hurried to the dining room. Others were already seated, except my mother. She was in the kitchen. I took the chair next to father. He was reading the daily newspaper. I read the last page from where I sat. Mother brought the dishes and Kate helped with the hot drinks. Kate and I drank coffee mostly. But our parents preferred tea. 'So, what's for breakfast?' 'Sandwiches!?' The horrible memories it holds!
"Eat up!", mom chirped.
"Thank you for the food!", we uttered and each of us took a sandwich from the centre dish as a trial.
"C'mon! It's delicious!", mother took the chair on other side of father while Kate sat opposite to him. Mother started adding two more pieces to each of our dishes. We didn't dare to refuse!
"Kate!", I remembered!
"What is it?", she looked at me.
"I need my keys.", I missed my motorbike already.
"Sure! But first promise me a ride to the stadium. I'm leaving in ten minutes.", she demanded.
'If I deny, she is going to ride the bike to the stadium anyway! Do I even have a choice!?' "Okay done!", I speeded up my pace.

I changed into a pair of sky blue jeans and a white t-shirt. I tidied my hair. I was good as new. My right hand found its way to the right drawer and opened it to grab the keys. Force of habit, I guess! I closed it, making a loud sound, a little annoyed. I left my room and waited for Kate in the living room. 'Girls will be girls! Ten minutes, huh!' It was 8:45 already. She came out of her cocoon (i mean, room!), transformed! She looked gorgeous in a short sleeveless frock and high heels. She did a light make-up, only eyeliner and pink lip gloss, best suited for such weather.
"Let's go!", she suggested, throwing me the keys. Someday some strange guy would steal her away from me! (F.y.i, I don't have a sister complex!)
I lifted the garage shutter and pulled out my bike. I checked for the fuel and it indicated 'near empty' status. 'Just how far is your stadium?', I scoffed.
I climbed up and she followed. We rode off!
