"Dude, isn't that-?" Wally said.

"No, it can't be." I said through gritted teeth.

She wouldn't just walk past me like that, like she didn't know me. She also wouldn't be wearing a skirt. She also wouldn't be a cheerleader. She also wouldn't have preppy friends, if she had friends at all.

"Guys this is my friend Sapphire Mays." Jade said. "She is on the cheer squad with us."

"And she is single. Unlike us." The other girl, Ava, said, nudging Wally closer to her.

"Well then, beautiful. How are you?" He said, draping his arm around her.

I coughed, glaring at Wally.

The bell rang, and the girls dragged Wally away from me, leaving Night- I mean Sapphire and I alone.

We just stood there in awkward silence.

"Do you remember me?" I said, finally.

She gave me a weird look. "Should I?"

I felt my heart drop. She really didn't remember me, at all.

"Nevermind. I thought I knew you from somewhere." I said. I walked off towards the school, looking closely at my school map.

"Hey! Wait!"

Sapphire ran up behind me. "Do you need help finding your classes?"

"Um," I couldn't say anything before she took my map and schedule.

"Omg! You have the same first period as me! And homeroom!" She smiled.

Her smile was the same as it used to me. More of a smirk hiding a secret plan than a smile. More of a murder hiding behind a perfect set of pearly whites.

A secret hiding behind a white lie.

"Im Robin by the way." I blurted.

She smiled. "Sapphire. Sapphire Mays. But you can call me Fire."

Fire. Im going to have to get used to that.
