She glanced out of the car window and grimaced remembering her last thought she had before leaving this town. If I ever saw this place again it would be too soon. But there she was looking out of her black rimmed sun glances at Beacon Hills, the place she grew up. The car pulled over and she along with her elder companion hopped out of it warily. She eyed the burnt house down in front of her and tried not to remember the awful night that changed her forever.
Shrugging her black jacket back into place she followed her friend into the house. She looked around, a scowl still plastered on her face which made her want revenge even more than she did when it happened. After stepping up the stairs and placing her hand on the banister a memory began to come back but she shook it off.
"There's no way in hell I'm staying here," she started her rant.
"Why?"
"Because, Derek," she pushed the banister gently and it fell to the floor. "I'd rather not break my neck falling down the stairs- or anywhere really."
"Then, Bri," he mimicked her with sarcasm laced into his voice. "Try not to be a complete klutz."
"Unlikely," She mumbled in response before continuing to climb the stairs. Finally she found a room that wasn't as demolished as the rest so she decided that would be where she'd be sleeping.
Brianna attempted to open the wardrobe door which handle was broken off. With the slightest touch her eyes magically turned into their purple colour instead of their natural brown.
"Please don't leave," a young girl said. Cora.
Derek sighed, "I'll be back soon, I promise." They continued arguing about the younger Derek leaving until he slammed the wardrobe door in anger. The young girl sat on her bed and cried after her brother left her room.
The vision snapped to a few hours later when a young Brianna ran into the room screaming. She and Cora were similar in age except Brianna was a few months older. They were still best friends.
Brianna explained that there was going to be a fire and that everybody needed to leave. Cora, being the stubborn girl she was, didn't believe her best friend. Though it could've just been a side effect from her argument with Derek.
Moments later in the flashback Brianna watched from outside as the house burned to flames. Before she could run inside to save her friends, save her family, Derek and his older sister Laura grabbed her and held her back. The flashback faded out with only the screams of past Brianna being heard.
Brianna sat onto the rusty bed and cried. She hadn't had memories of the fire in a long time, six years to be exact. Sometimes being what she was sucked majorly but she's had to deal with it for sixteen years. Derek walked into her room, rambling on about what kind of bed sheets she wanted until he noticed her crying.
"Bri?" He said, sitting on the bed next to her. "Memory of the fire again?"
She nodded before wiping her eyes. She hated acting weak in front of the Hale's. "We're going to find Laura, aren't we?"
"Of course we are," The elder boy lied through his teeth. The truth was he came in here to tell her that he'd already found Laura. Laura's body. That's why he was rambling, Derek is normally cool, calm and collected. He's also normally a bit of a loner. And a bit mean. And sometimes scary. And-
"Don't get all emotional on me now, Hale." She smirked at the boy who she classed as a brother.
Derek rolled his eyes and threw the two bedsheets at her. "Put them on and get some sleep." As he smirked Brianna's face fell, Derek smirking is never good news for her. "You have school tomorrow."
