"I made the angels of destiny change our fate." Gabriel chuckled and got up from the couch, walking around in front of me while I tried my best to focus on him. "It started with Cupid. I made him meet the lovely Paula Heithan which caused a chain reaction so he met Olivia and Brea, and then I placed some bottles of Lucifer's 'wing burner' in his house until he gave in. He was the second one who fell. And you, you have no idea what I did to make you break the rules finally."

"I didn't break any of them." I grumbled.

"Not knowingly - you didn't exactly break the rule that no human can get back to his or her body, but the one which said that no angel is allowed to kill a soul - which you did."

"I didn't hurt any human." I replied annoyed, with a loud voice and tried to get up but I failed.

"Not a human but a demon, and demons are also souls, in a sick way. A lot of angels forget about that." He chuckled but he seemed slightly stressed, like he would be in a hurry. "The way I made you fall was more complicated because I had it planned differently, but who cares anyways? You're all going to fall, so there's no reason I need a proper explaination on why you fell."

I stared angrily at him but he didn't care. Gabriel sat down on the couch again and explained everything he did in my life lately.

The girl who tried to commit suicide, Madison, was the first part of his plan. She was there to distract me from the important happenings.
Gabriel messed with her head so she went to the bridge and when she fell he took her memories on what happened that day. Unfortunately Madison wasn't his only victim, Darren Hughes was one as well.

Darren was on his way home when Gabriel sent Samael to get in Darren's body. Samael was just a regular angel and I only heard good things about him, but Gabriel used him. He told Samael that god would have ordered him to do so, but truth is Gabriel and God never even talked about him.
When Samael tried to get into Darren's body it caused a conflict because he didn't want him to get in, but the soul of an angel is much stronger than the soul of a human so it only took seconds until Samael won and had total control over a completely random body - he wasn't better than a demon.

I wasn't able to see Samael because he used this human body, but to be sure nothing would go wrong Gabriel needed Madison to distract me.
Samael was only there to find out some things about my life and when he left it drove Darren crazy. He couldn't handle all the information Samael left to him and so he started shooting people. It wasn't Gabriel's intention to kill Cassiel. It was just a mistake. I would never forgive him though.

Meanwhile, while he messed with the angels, he made a deal with the demons - which didn't include his soul.
If they caught me then he'd bring them a lot of angels to lock up, which makes hell grow stronger, but he only needed the deal to make me kill a demon, which I did.

Taylor was just a "lucky" coincidence. There was a demon in him already long before Gabriel made the deal but then he saw his chance to have some fun and took it.

Too much fun can kill you.

All this was just so Gabriel had a reason to make me fall.

"Why? Why did I have to fall?"

"Because you believed in our father."

I looked confused at him. I didn't understand why this is a problem.

Gabriel sighed and explained "There are three angels that need to fall so all the others fall as well. Nearly all the others at least. The ones who still believe in our father; the ones who trust him can stay in heaven. I know all the others lost their fate, even Michael and Raphael, but not you. I know you never liked him but you trusted him and that was a problem."

"You deserve to burn in hell!" I shouted and pushed myself up from the couch with my last strength but I couldn't keep my balance anymore. I feel on the floor and groaned loudly. I knew I was about to bleed out, but Gabriel didn't help me. It didn't seem like it would bother him at all, he just sat there silently while I tried to get up.

I groaned and sweat formed on my forehead, and with every breath I took I felt even more like closing my eyes and stay on the floor. No matter how hard I tried and no matter how loud my brain was shouting "Get up!", my body refused.

"Why are you telling me all this?" I said quietly and leaned my forehead against the wood of the floor.

"Because I know you won't tell anyone else." He replied and got up which made the wood squeak silently while he moved closer to me and kneeled down beside me so I could look in his face. "The 'ritual' takes another thing - apart from three fallen angels." For the first time since our conversation I seemed like he truly felt bad for what he was about to do. He was so proud about everything he said and it didn't even cross his mind that what he did was wrong but now I saw real pity in his eyes.

"It takes a sacrifice. I have to kill one of the three angels who fell, and since your wings don't heal because I cut them off instead of ripping them out, you'll be the one. You're too weak to survive this anyways." Gabriel got up again and then I saw something glow in his hand and then his archangel sword appeared once more.

He lifted his sword and I knew he was about to push it through me any second but instead of worrying, instead of crying or freaking out, I accepted it. I was on this planet for so long and the only way I'd ever find my peace was this way - as a human. I had seen so much and I had heard so much; It was my time to let go.
I had made my peace long ago, because I had seen too much.

There was only one thing that was important to me in my time of dying. "Don't hurt Cas." I whispered.

"I won't." Gabriel replied softly and added "I'm sorry."

I heard how his sword moved through the air and how it lowered down to my neck with an immense speed, and a moment before it hit me I closed my eyes - for the last time.
