PROLOUGE
Ella looked around the dorm room, then got up. She quickly fished a pair of shoes out from under her bed, put them on and left. She was a master at sneaking out because no one paid any attention to her, but she had to be sure. Just in case.
She walked quickly to the Room Of Requirement, making sure to be silent. Whilst invisible to the over students, she sure as hell wasn't invisible to the teachers, and certainly not to Filch, or that new teacher, Umbridge. Ella hated the thought of her. It made her want to punch the nearest thing.
Upon entering the Room of Requirement, Ella noted how quiet it was. It was their third week back at school, and Ella hadn't met George at all for the last week and a half. They met every other day, so that was about five sessions they hadn't seen each other, or rather, talked. Ella wouldn't have gone to tomorrow's if she hadn't gotten a note saying to meet today.
Ella knew that George was busy and that he had a lot of friends, and he was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, but Ella couldn't help but feel neglected. She and George had decided to keep their relationship hidden, as Ella didn't really want to be known and George thought that that way, it wouldn't last. Meeting each other had become something both looked forward to. Neither classed it as a date, because lately they ended up working on homework, but twice or three times a year, both would really make an effort and meet up in Hogsmeade. It was so important to them, that George would always go out and get permission from Professor Dumbledore. It just made it more special.
Ella started to hum a tune as she sat down on a chair. The Room of Requirement was set out like a living room, with a dark grey overstuffed couch and two puffy blue armchairs beside it. In front of the couch and between the armchairs was a coffee table with a transparent top. The rug was a powder blue and fluffy, and Ella loved sitting on it.
Curling up on the arm chair, Ella decided she would give George around fifteen minutes before leaving. N.E.W.T.s were on the other end of the year and yet Ella was already swimming in homework. She wondered if George was too, and maybe that's why he couldn't make it. No, that wouldn't be it.
After nearly ten minutes, Ella's eyes had started to droop as she closed in on herself on the arm chair. George would have to hurry up, but Ella had no reason to believe he would come. She wanted to leave, and get into bed, but she wasn't sure if she could get herself up and into her bed. Instead of making a decision, Ella just turned in the armchair so that she was facing the cushion. She finally let her eyes close, only to be woken right back up again. Groaning, she pulled herself up and yawned. Stretching, she turned towards the door to see what had brought light.
And there he was, finally.
Ella hesitated. About a million questions had to come to her at once, and she didn't know where to start. Instead, she said, "George Weasley, you better not leave me lonely like that again. Ever." George walked over to her and, standing behind the armchair, hugged her. He put his head on her hair.
"I'm sorry. It's like Fred has woken up, and he's gotten suspicious. He keeps me talking whenever I try to leave, so today I just gave him a sleeping potion." Ella snorted. "Wait, you don't-"
"I do believe you. It sounds reasonable. I just snorted because it's just they way you said, "I just gave him a sleeping potion."" She felt George smile through her hair. Then, he picked her up (Ella was both small and light) and they landed onto the couch. Ella had to thoroughly stop herself from giggling.
