Looking after a newborn baby was not easy. But two months down the line, Ella and George had finally got the hang of things. Just in time for Christmas at the Burrow. Which nearly did not end well.

Both Ella and George knew how to drive, but the first thing they argued on that day was who would drive, and who would sit with Emma. "What if she starts crying?" Ella exclaimed, desperate.
"I can get her quiet in seconds. I really think it's best your drive, love," George suggested, sorting out Emma's car seat. Ella had hold of the baby. Ella hummed.
"What if I get tired?" Ella protested.
"Then we'll swap," George answered calmly, taking Emma out of his fiancee's arms. "If you get too anxious, we'll swap. Deal?" Ella sighed in defeat, having finally lost.
"Deal." The drive was pretty quiet, apart from George and Ella singing along to every song that came on the radio.

Then, as they arrived at the house, neither Ella nor George wanted to wake Emma up, for she was nice and soundly asleep, and the sudden movement of being picked up would awaken the small baby. Thus, they sat in the car for three minutes, debating when to move.
"You know the solution to this? We don't let her nap during the day," George decided. Ella spluttered.
"We can't do that! She'd cry more!" Ella protested, yet again.
"You know what, I'm going to ask Dad," George informed her. "He had six kids, or maybe seven. I stopped counting. He'll know."
"How can you not know how many siblings you have? I mean, there's Ginny, Ron, Fred, Percy, Charlie and Bill. Seven of you in total. I didn't miss anyone?" Ella counted.
"Yes, but is Harry included?"
"Good point." George did have his own key to the house, but the first person they saw was, in fact, Ginny. As soon as the baby entered her eyesight, she screamed.
"Is this my little niece? Is this my gorgeous, cute little niece? Hello, Em, I'm Ginny," she greeted immediately, cooing at the child. 'Em' was now wide awake, and staring at Ginny. Ella and George braced themselves, but Em only giggled and waved her little chubby arms about. Ella and George happily handed her over to Ginny.
"That was easy," he pointed out. Ella nodded.
"Yeah. Let's go sleep."

They spent pretty much all of Christmas Eve crashed out in Fred and George's old bedroom, whilst the baby got a good reception downstairs. At first, the boys (except Bill) were not very interested, but then Em threw up on Fleur (which seemed to be Ginny's highlight of the day) and then they loved her. It was a tiring day for little Emma.
