Okay, so to clarify, Ella got pregnant in April (for the benefit of her NEWTs) and so it is currently November. So, eight months pregnant. kk off we go

That morning, at precisely 3:17 am, Ella went into labour.

The first contraction was the worst, because she definitely was not ready for it. After that, it was a lot better. because she was kind of prepared for it. Unlike George, who was not.

It was kind of funny seeing him panic, rushing back and forth getting nurses and making sure everything was okay. He was very reluctant to kick everyone else out of the room, but Ella forced him to, because she didn't want anyone else to share this moment with them.

It was about three hours later, at 6:11 am, when the baby decided to make it red carpet appearance. Ella had chosen gas and air as her pain relief, but holding George's hand was enough for her. "When I say so, I want you to start pushing," the midwife, Susie, ordered. Ella nodded, too nervous to talk. "Ready? Push!" Ella did so, eyes squeezing shut and nearly ripping off George's hand. "Good. Wait. Ready, push!" Ella repeated the exercise, this time letting out a yell of pain. "This is not working," the midwife said plainly.
"What?" George yelled.
"Give me a second," Susie said, before she left.
"Oh, what? She can't do that, can she?" George asked.
"All I care about right now is getting the damn thing out!" Ella yelled.
"Okay. Um, I think she's back anyway," George said, as Susie came back in, with a man holding something looking a little bit like a ice-cream scoop.
"I know that we are not very far in, but I think it is best for you that we deliver the baby with forceps. It is not too painful, and it should not damage the baby," Susie informed them.
"Okay, as long as she gets out," Ella told them.
"From where we left. Push!"

It was only an hour later, at 7:13 am, where little Emma Lottie was born. And George was almost too scared to cut the cord.
