Twenty weeks down the line, Ella ended up in hospital.
Since getting back to London, her friends (and George) had noticed a lot of things. Firstly, how tired she was getting. She could barely go out of the house, and if she did, it was not for long. She was just so ill, she could barely walk. Additionally, she was vomiting a lot more than she should've been.
At one point, George decided enough was enough, and (literally) dragged her to the hospital.
"I'll be fine," Ella kept saying in the waiting room.
"No, you won't. I've talked to mum, and even she says it's not normal. She's been through eight kids and nearly became a nurse. I think she knows what she's on about," George replied, putting a protective arm around Ella. And, of course, Mrs. Weasley was right. They diagnosed Ella with HG, and decided to admit her to hospital, because of Ella's mum's pregnancy history. Ella's mum, Rose, had gotten blood poisoning with Ella and also in her second pregnancy, where she had a miscarriage. Ella did feel that this gave George a right to be worried, but she wasn't too sure herself.
"So your parents had a miscarriage?" George asked.
"You've never met my parents," Ella replied.
"Where are they? Have you told them the news?" Mrs. Weasley asked. George still spent a lot of his time at work, so Mrs. Weasley volunteered her time, along with Charlotte, who'd finally gotten a job.
"Erm, I think they're currently in Morocco. They send me postcards every once in a while. But no, I don't think they know. I'm not sure they're ready to know," Ella replied. Mrs. Weasley hummed in slight disapproval.
"I would like to meet your parents," George said brightly.
"And I'm sure they'd like to meet you. They come back to the UK in a month, anyway, so I guess you can meet them then," Ella decided.
"Who wouldn't want to be a grandparent, though?" Mrs. Weasley said. "I have been waiting for this for years. Years," she said.
"So have I," a lady said at the door. There was a man with her. They were in business clothes. Ella sat up.
"Mum! Dad," she said, smiling. She opened her arms so her parents could move forwards. They hugged her one at a time.
"Oh, baby," Ella's mum said, hugging her tight.
"We came as soon as we got the call," Ella's dad, Dave, said.
"Call?" Ella said.
"We're still your next of kin. The hospital let us know," Dave said, patting Ella on the head like he used to do when she was really little.
"Ahh. Well, Mum, Dad, this is George, and his mum, Mrs. Weasley," Ella said. "George is, uh, the dad."
"Are you ready for this, son?" Dave inquired, shaking George's hand.
"Yes, sir," George replied. "Fred and I built the baby's room, he's all moved in with Charlotte, your stuff has been moved and I've educated myself on how to change a nappy." Dave chuckled.
"That's exactly what I said to your dad," Dave said to Rose.
"Were you even ready for me?" Ella asked.
"Still not ready now," he replied, patting her head again.
"But he had to do all the nappy changing and everything. I was bedridden for three months afterwards, and I couldn't breastfeed at all. I could've died at any point giving birth to you," Rose said. "That's why we didn't try a third time."
"By the way, what gender are we getting?" Dave asked.
"Ooh, it's going to be a little girl," Mrs. Weasley said, sitting up.
"Have you decided the name?" Rose asked, clasping her hands together.
"Yes, we have," George said. "But we're still on our toes about it."
