The next thing I remember is waking up in a beautiful bed with my legs and arms in bandages and my legs were lifted up by some sort of machine.

“Hello” said the nurse.

“Hey” was all I could manage.

Then she walked over to the machine that was holding my leges up and she pressed a button that caused the machine to lower my legs and cause extreme pain all through my lower back.

“Ahhhhhhh” I yelled

“Sorry” she muttered with her mouth overflowing with sarcasm

That got me really annoyed with adults because I had just been mistreated by two already and then to myself I said

“I’ve had enough of adults at the moment”

Then as the nurse opened the door to my room I saw my mother and then the nurse and my mum disappeared. For a moment I thought it was the wack on the head I got was interfering with my vision, then I realised I wasn’t seeing things and my mother and the nurse were really GONE.

My first instinct was to scream, but I remembered I was in a hospital and some of the other patients would be sleeping so I kept calm and pressed the emergency button on the wall next to me and waited a minute and no one came. Strange. After another couples of minutes stressing out and waiting for a nurse to come and sort out what the hell was going on, I was convinced that no one was coming so I turned my body around and lowered myself into the wheelchair (which caused excruciating pain).

I wheeled myself over to the door and had a look out and to my relief I saw a boy about 13 years old in the corridor. Great! Maybe he could help my sort this mess out……Wait, back when I was in bed I said that I was sick of adults. No, no, no this was not my fault I couldn’t make things happen with my mind, no one could do that. After I had convinced myself that I had not just made two adults disappear, I yelled out to the boy in the corridor and he spun around and yelled “hey” back. He came up next to my wheel chair and said that he was really freaked out because as he was giving his mother a hug with his two broken arms she just disappeared. GONE, just like that.  He suggested that we go down stairs and I agreed so he pushed me into the lift and we went down to the ground level where we found a Mexican receptionist who had a nametag that said IM NEW on his black suit. After I found out the names of what felt like the last two people on the planet, we walked outside to find that the streets where empty except for a few kids running after each other with baseball bats. I need a moment to think, so I asked how old Edilio was (the Mexican boy) and he said fifteen in 2 hours, so I wished him happy birthday and then I asked Liam the boy with the two broken arms how old his was and he said 13. Okay I am with two teenagers in the empty streets of the Gold Coast and all the parents have disappeared and we have no idea what is going on.

“Great” I said

“What should we do first?” asked Liam

“Eat” said Edilio

“That is what I was thinking” I said

Then headed toward the lolly shop across the road and stuffed our faces for the next half an hour.
