STANDING in the whipping rain on the tow,
I just about saw the cruise ship.I'd been saving up for this trip for a long time now. Before this, I had only taken the occasional road trip to Goa. However, So far the rain gods had not been kind.
You see, I'm the kind of person who never goes on a holiday. Yes, the workaholic kind. Even if I DID take a leave, I spent it with my brother from another mother - Karan, on to some road trip somewhere. This time, however, I planned to go on a 7-star cruise.
The ferry I was standing in, was getting tossed by the strong waves! At the risk of getting toppled over, I held on to the rails for my dear life.
We were welcomed by belly dancers and some guys playing the banjo, while the rest served welcome drinks and dates.
As I stood in line, slurping my tangy brain freeze and dressed in funky three-fourths and an S. P. A. R. T. A. N. S. hoodie in the VIP Lane, I noticed this girl in a red one-piece - tapping her foot to the beats.
I don't know what stopped me dead in my tracks. Was it her flawless face or her majestic body? Was it her charming smile or her perfect lips sipping on that watermelon Slurpee? I just couldn't decide, nor was able to break my stare!
Everything... from the way her eyes caught midday's sunlight, to the vibrant smile she wore even when a hundred sneering faces bore down upon her- was perfect! A beauty so vibrant, I swear the world around her looked as if it came alive just a *little* bit more.
As I stared at her face, It brought a certain warmth to my heart which had started to ice over after all these years of being alone.
OH SHIT! I noticed her noticing me noticing her! (She caught me staring!) She blushed, looking at my dumbstruck face and signalled me to move ahead. I said "I'm sorry! " to which she replied: "Haww, it's okay."
After settling down in my suite, I called the room service to send me a blue lagoon. I loved that drink and just couldn't live without it. I laid on the bouncy, luxuriously soft bed for a few minutes and when the knock came, I rushed to the door in my jammies.
Lo and behold. She was right in front of me, taking one of the two blue lagoons on the trolley. And as if things were not awkward already, I just stood there, blank and awestruck.
You see, I've had girls as friends before. Heck, I still have friends who are girls! But this girl? She was something else... out of this world perhaps, and mind you, I'm just getting started! And hey, I'm not saying she'll beat Victoria's Secret models but.. She was just perfect for me.
Let me describe her for you, eh? She had these silky, straight hair, just the perfect length. Her eyes, oceanic blue, her pinkish lips with a tiny flat black mole above them... They were perfect, a blend of pink which didn't require any lipstick. Her oh-so-soft neck which was flawlessly kissable...
*Ahem*
Ok, I'll stop before I get carried away by this. The room service guy had knocked on my door, but given the blue lagoon to? Her. Probably hoping to finish this delivery soon, to go attend to the other VIPs, but I was oblivious the fact then. I looked at him, smiling (trying to act cool) and said 'I ordered only one, bro' but she cut me short, in her oh-so-sweet voice, saying 'Actually, I ordered one too!'
Crap! I thought. I'm like the king of awkwardness! I grabbed the drink, signed on the paper and shut the door behind me.
