My Math Teacher is My New Mom?

Chapter 8

I'm at Meagan's house getting ready for my date with Jacob; he is taking me out for dinner. Last night Dad dropped the bomb on me that Devin is going to be my step mother. I knew this day was coming ever since they started dating, but I just hoped they would have broken up before it could happen. There's nothing I can do now, but think of the positives. Now my Dad will be happy. So, I guess I can live with that.

"Madison, I've been saying your name for 2 minutes straight now." Meagan complained. She is always whining, but that's what make her, her. "Sorry, I was just thinking about Ms. Devin and my dad getting married." I told her the news when I first got to her house a few hours ago. "Make sure to tell him congrats." Meagan is actually really happy for my dad. "I will." I got up and admired my hair in the mirror. "Thanks for doing my hair it looks amazing." I thanked her. "No problem." She walked to her bed, and picked up the outfit I brought with me from home. She handed it to me, and I got dressed.

Jacob and I arrived at the restaurant, and walked inside. "Hello, welcome to Inceliia." The hostess welcome us. "Hi, reservations for Matthews." Jacob told the lady. "Okay follow me to your table." She lead us to a small booth. We sat down, and we examined our menus. The waitress came and told our orders. I ordered the Chicken Alfred, which is kind of funny, because I remember when Devin suggested the Chicken Alfred, and I said no. Anyway, Jacob ordered the same thing as me.

"So, what have you been up to?" Jacob asked me while we were eating our food. "My dad is getting remarried. I just found out last night." I told him how the whole thing happened. From me finding out they were dating to now. "Oh well tell him I said congrats." Jacob told me. "Yeah, I will, so what's being going on with you?"  I asked him taking another bite into my delicous food. "Well, nothing much, just been trying to pass all my classes in school." He told me looking down at his hands. He has been acting weird for a while now. I wonder what's up.

After dinner, we walked to Jacob's car. We got in and put on our seat belts. We made it back to Meagan's house in one piece. The car, now that I think about, was quiet and uncomfortable. I could tell that Jacob was nervous about something. "Hey, can I ask you something?" Jacob asked bringing me out of my thoughts. "Sure." I looked at him waiting for his question. "Well, I was wondering if you would um if you would like to be my girlfriend?" Jacob asked me while looking down the whole time. When he finally looked up, I kissed him.
