Today is the day when Devin becomes my stepmom; I so excited. Who would have thought that I would actually be happy about this, but I so am. This morning when I woke up I brushed my teeth and washed my face, took a shower, and went right into my dad and stepmom's room. Devin was the only one in there because my Dad went to his best man's house because it's bad luck to see you wife or however before the wedding.
"Hey Devin are you ready!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. We both got on the bed and started jumping up and down on the bed. "Yes! I'm so excited I never thought I would be getting married and get a daughter too." We both plopped down on the bed. "Where do we go now?" I asked her. Hopefully it's not a lot because I'm too excited to wait for the wedding to start. "We have to go to the hair dresser, get my makeup done and then go pick up my dress." Okay let's get this party started.
Devin got her hair done at hair dresser and got her makeup after we picked up the dress. Her hair is very beautiful; her hair is curled and put up in a high pony tail. Her makeup is light with a baby pink color on the lid, brown in the crease, and black eyeliner. She is going to look beautiful in her dress.
I need to get ready quick, so I'm going to take a shower. After that I'm going to wash my face again and moisturize, do my makeup and hair, then get my dress from my closet and go to the church.
We made it to the church right on schedule and went to the holding room to change. Devin's mom is here helping us and so is her younger sister, Emily. Emily looks a lot like Devin, they have the same brown hair, brown eyes, everything about them are the same. Emily is the same age as me, 16.
Everyone has their dresses on, makeup touched up, and everyone's hair is touched up as wel. lThe wedding is starting any minute now we just have to wait for our que. as if the usher man read my mind, he opened the doors to the holding room and said it was time. I walked to the door and Thomas did as well, he's my partner of course. So we started walking, I looked around at the people that were sitting in the pews. I turned my head to look at the other side and saw a group of people that I never guess would be hear. Sam, Clair, Meaghan, and all the other girls from the basketball team.
" You may now kiss the bride." The pastor said. My dad leaned in and planted a big one on her. It was kind of sickening to see my fater make out with Devin, but you know it's all good as long as this is the first and last time I will have to see it.
The reception has started about 30 minutes ago. People gave toast to my dad and new step- mom, including me. Thomas and I dance until we were interrupted by my so called friends. " uh, hey." Meaghan said to me. I just said hi then turned back to Thomas, but he was already gone dancing with Grama. She has been wanting to see him again since the last time I took him over ther to see them a couple weeks ago.
" Can we talk?" Meaghan asked me. " Oh, now you want to talk to me?" I asked them with an attitude. I don't care they deserve it. " I'm so sorry about that, it's just that Jacob told me that you two did it then you broke up with him. I should have known he was lying, but I was stupid so I believed him. Then summer backed up his story and I just couldn't- I don't know. I'm just really sorry and want my best friend back. Don't we?" Meaghan asked the other girls. " yeah we do." The other girls chimed in. I could help but smile. I know I shouldn't but they are my best friend no matter what. I hugged Eaghsn and the girls joined in.
It was time for the first dance and " Ready for Anything" by Landon Austin came on.
I watched my dad and new mom dance together. Devin will never take the place of my real mom, but she is going to be one heck of a step- mother. I would have never thought that my dad would ever get married again, especially to my math teacher.
I'm excited to see what the future will hold for our new family. Deep done inside I'm still surprised that my math teacher is my new mom.
