Hey Bumblebees! I'm really sorry that I haven't updated in ages, this chapter stumped me halfway through, but it's finally ready to upload. Enjoy :P. Oh, and the image above is what Kai's formal clothes look like, but I'll leave her face for you guys to imagine.
This chapters book recommendation is Aurian by Maggie Furey- printed (but it's out of print so look second hand)
///Kai's POV\\\
I don't talk to my father for three days. For three days I dont leave my rooms, using my own private bathing chamber instead of the palaces larger communal baths and bullying the servants into bringing me my meals. I wallow in my misery and anger, and for three days they let me. The servants, my father, everyone. Untill the forth day.
The loud murmer and frequent breaks of giggles draws me from my sleep, niggling at the back of my mind untill cold water splashes down over me. Shrieking like a banshee, I launch myself fron the bed, shaking the water from my eyes and grabbing at the incontinent pillocks who- "Grab her!" I twist, trying to manoeuvre or earthbend away, but a swarm of hands grab me, deftly lifting me off of the floor befor the run out of my chambers with me above their heads, their child-like laughter the first happy sound I've heard in days. Child-like... Shaking the last remnants of sleep from my eyes, I realise who is carrying me through the castle, to the courtyard. I find it hard not to laugh as I bellow at my supposed captors. "Oi, you lot! Put me down!" A chorus of several distinct 'No's sound, followed by laughter as they carry me outside, running past amazed servants and soldiers. They charge past the open door of the throne room and someone at the back of the group lets go to bow to my father with a cheeky smile, but without their hands supporting my head I tilt backward with a shout. "Dont drop me!" My yell brings another bout of laughter to the children.
When they finally reach the training courtyard, the children dump me unceromoniously on the sandy ground, jumping out of reach before I can throttle them for kidnapping me. Managing to contain the urge, I stand slowly, brushing the dirt off of my soaked nightclothes which closely resembled my fighting gear. The children laugh gaily at my apperance, drawing my attention to them. There are twenty of them all together, all standing infront of me, awaiting either a scolding or instruction. My students. I place my hands on my hips, trying to look cross. "Now what was so important that you had to manhandle me out of bed?" Refusing to back down, the oldest of the group steps forward, little twelve year old Yanna's face full of determination. "You've missed our last three lessons, Lady," The other children all nod their heads gravely. "We heard that you were staying in your rooms all day, and decided that we would get you out."
Any response that I could have had died in my throat.
"Are you saying that I am standing soaked in my bedclothes because you missed me?" My students all shuffle nervously, but Yanna's face never falters as she nods. I step forward, my arms wide and she flinches as if I was about to strike her.
"Good Lord girl, just hug me already." As I wrap my arms around her shoulders she squirms, trying to escape the water dripping off of me. The rest of them laugh, but the sound quickly turns to shrieks as I run after them as well, covering each and every one of them in water. Another chorus of laughter sounds as I finally stand in front of them, clapping my hands to draw their full attention.
"Right, first stance."
Yayyy!!!! I finally finished this chapter! I know it's really short, but I'm absolutely buried under homework right now. Wooow GCSE's *sarcasm* I'll try to update more regularly, but I cant promise anything. Love you bumbebee's :P xxxxx
