As we walked into the restaurant, the sound of music filled my ears along with the smell of various meals. The pounding bass of the music already accomplished giving me a headache. My friend Natalie and I were meeting up with an old friend named Dave that we haven' t seen in a while. We were going to be at the beach for the summer together, Natalie and I in our house, and Dave and his cousin in his. His cousin was also here, but I've never met him before. We didn't have to wait to be seated since they were already here.
"Have you ever met his Dave's cousin?" I ask Natalie as we searched the crowd for the others.
"No. All I know is that he's from England and is staying here for the summer," she says.
In the crowd of people I spotted the familiar smile of Dave as he sat in a booth, talking to I suppose was his cousin across from him. I couldn't see anything of him from the angle we were at, though I could see a few brown curls poking from above the back of the booth. The hostess pointed to the table they were sitting at, and Natalie led the way. Dave spotted us and waved. As we approached the table, Natalie was first to say hello. Though as I turned to introduce myself, his green eyes locked onto my blue ones, a warming grin appearing on his face.
"Hi, my name's Harry," he said with a smile.
"I'm Bailey," I replied a little quietly. He gave me a small grin, a dimple appearing in the corner of his cheek. I looked to Natalie to try to break eye contact with him, but I noticed she was already sitting down next to Dave in his side of the booth. Then I realized there was no other spot, except next to Harry. Of course she would do that to me.
I looked down at the bare spot next to him. I looked at Harry and gave a shy smile and slowly slid into the seat.
