"Niall don't look so down."
"What time is it."
"11:02"
Niall crossed his arms, slouching down in his seat. "Why the fuck did you have to pick such a crowed place?" he scoffed, glancing around the over crowded restaurant filled with starving college students.
"Because i didn't feel like eating at the Pavilion again." Liam shrugged, a smirk spreading on his face as a whistle was directed toward his friend, who immediately turned as bright as a tomato. Liz snickered as Jake sent daggers at the group of hormoned crazed men for embarrassing his friend. Jake didn't like to admit it, but he was quite protective of Niall - he's the second youngest in the group so they all were a bit overly protective of him. But if an outsider were to observe Jake and his reactions to Niall, one might think that Jake was his brother - maybe a father even.
"Have I mentioned that I hate you guys?" Niall grunted, swatting Liz's hand away as she attempts to steal his untouched fries. "Niall stop whining and eat something already." Liam sighed, pushing his finished meal to the side of the table. Niall rolled his eyes, picking up a fry and munching slowly.
"Where's Harry by the way?"Liz asked, taking a gulp of what the hell she was drinking. Liam shrugged, leaning back against the booth. "He's on a date remember?"
"Liam." Jake warned, eyes turning into slits.
"What!" Liam protest, holding his hands up in innocence, yet his smirk said other wise.
"You know what happened last time.."
"No, no i don't because that guy couldn't take a fucking joke." Liam rolled his eyes, a grunt escaping his lips as Jake crosses his arms into his i'm-right-you're-wrong-and-i'm-going-to-tell-you-why-i'm-right pose.
"Liam the last time Harry made a friend you pushed the guy so far he freaked out and moved to Idaho - I mean who the fuck wants to live in Idaho?"
"Who the fuck wants to live in Arizona?"
"Don-"
Jake was cut off by the sudden sound of cheers erupting in different places from the small restaurant.
"speak of the devil" Liz huffed, snatching one of Niall's fries and stuffing it into her mouth. I looked over my shoulder, and sure enough Harry was making his way through - stopping shortly to talk about god knows what with random people.
The thing with Harry was that he was likeable, even with his tattoos and whatnot's - the same with Niall. When Liam had first met Harry, he had a few piercing on his face, small tattoos surrounded his left arm while a giant moth lay on his stomach. But it wasn't his tattoos or piercings that made Harry likable to Liam, no it was the fact that Harry was from Cheshire and the plain fact that his personality reminded him of his best mate back in his long forgotten home.
Even with Niall - Liam had remembered through his thick Irish accent, his year six teacher who had come from Dublin. Liam had befriended the two boys when he first moved here, never really questioning why two lads from the UK were in such a depressingly long distance away from home, thinking that if he were asked the same he would rather not answer.
When the three had moved on to college, Niall was terrified that Harry would separate from the trio and go to Tempe ASU. Niall had never really been separated from Harry and wasn't exactly the best at making friends, he was quite shy and having stretchers in his ears and tattoos covering his arms didn't really help. It's not that Niall needed Harry to survive, he was just more afraid that Harry would forget about him and find a new best mate.
Harry had felt horrible for doing that - causing Niall to think he would do such a thing, but both he and Niall knew that Harry couldn't just go to a college where everyone knew everyone. So in the end, Harry ended up taking a few classes at both Tempe and West, while getting an apartment and a job. By the end of the first week, Harry had met almost everyone at both campuses, which ended up being quite the advantage - helping the others get into the 'good' classes rather the 'bad'.
Harry had tried to introduce the two to a few of his new 'friends' but they always ended up being a bit too much of a.. stuck up asshole? Niall had just resulted in telling Harry to separate his two social lives in which Harry never brought another outsider into the group - and he never did, that is until..
Lyke.
In Liam's defence, Lyke was a wierd ass name. The guy wore brand names like Hollister and Abercombie & Fitch so it was expected for Liam to call him out on it. By then Liam, Niall and Harry had included two new members to their so called "group" (which Harry had nothing to do with, no it was Niall and Liam who had befriended Liz and Jake) and they already knew of Liam's inappropriate jokes and torment. So when Liam had asked Lyke if he bottomed because he looked like he did, the group had just laughed it off as Lyke simply shook his head frantically.
It's not that Liam was a homophobic - hell no. He believe in human rights and the fact that people who love the same sex had to fight for rights labeled as "gay rights" disgusted him, i mean - people who were gay were still humans, so why would other humans take away their rights that should be granted to everyone?
Anyway, Liam had made a few more jokes questioning Lyke's sexuality. He meant no harm in it - honestly, but when he had began to tease Harry about taking Lyke on their study dates, Lyke had freaked out - packed his bags and moved to Idaho. He didn't even tell Harry he was moving none the less to Idaho, Harry had found out by a friend of a friend of his room mate.
Later Harry had discovered that Lyke's father was very religious and was quite the homophobic so it explained why he freaked out when Liam asked "Does Harry whip your ass with a ruler while you two 'study'?" Again, he meant no harm by it - he was simply teasing.
And that is why while Harry goes on and on about the new friend he's made, Jake is sending Liam warning daggers to "not fuck it up" if Harry decides to put his new friend to a horrible fate of meeting his group of friends.
Suddenly frustrated by Jake's eye watching his every move, he decides to share a story of his own.
"I met a bitch today." He says, causing Niall to burst out in laughter. They all turn to Niall with confused looks. "Whats so funny Niall."
Niall calms himself down enough, his face slightly flustered. "Its just funny because Liam interrupted Harry to talk about a dog."
"Oh no it was a girl, and she was a bitch." They turn to Liam with slightly widened eyes, eyebrows furrowed with confusion because Liam never called a girl a bitch.
"gasp! Liam James Payne just called a girl a bitch? Who are you and what have you done with our lwittle Lwiam!" Liz squeaked sarcastically, pointing at him accusingly.
Liam shrugged, "she was a judgmental bitch - simple as that." he stated, finishing off his drink.
They all nodded slightly, ordering another round of beers before heading back to their beds for the night.
