Hard Times (NCT LUCAS)

The moment Ava saw Jaehwa, she turned around and walked out of the door. She couldn't even stand being in the same room as her for more than a second. She hated Jaehwa that much.

It wasn't always like this. Up until last month, they were the best of friends. Ava and Jaehwa have been friends since high school, and they always thought it'd be like that. Ava's boyfriend, Lucas, was also a close friend of theirs. All 3 of them would spend time together, though sometimes Jaehwa would third wheel, and she'd leave them alone, giving them privacy. Ava noticed this of course, so she tried to include her as much as possible.

Jaehwa wished she  could fix things between them but knew it was so broken, nothing could fix it. No matter how many times she apologized to her, Ava  wouldn't take it. Every time she'd try to say something Ava either walked away, or acted like she couldn't hear her.

"Ava please! If you were my best friend you'd at least hear me out!"

Jaehwa shouldn't have said that. She regretted it the moment the words were said. Because
Ava's eyes were like daggers as they looked at Jaehwa's. "You were NEVER my best friend." And just like that, she stabbed Jaehwa right in the heart.Ava  was hurt by everything, she knew that. But at that moment, after hearing her words, Jaehwa gave up. Nothing would fix it. It was too late. Just like the moment she came up to her  apartment and slapped Jaehwa on her face, tears streaming down her own.

Their friendship broken. Just like how she felt.

Lucas. It was all because of him. Everything had been perfect until he told Ava the truth. He knew it would break her, but he also couldn't keep lying her, and deceiving her.

Lucas broke the peace between them. He was selfish to tell the truth, knowing it would break the friendship of the two girls, but he needed to be honest. He wouldn't keep going through with their relationship, knowing it wasn't real.

So he told her the truth. The truth about how he loved Jaehwa, and not Ava. How he had always loved her, despite being in a relationship with Ava.
