Chapter 5 - Sooner

~Laura's POV~
Its about 9:00 in the morning here in Sydney, Australia. I slept the whole night through, I couldn't chill downstairs last night because mom and dad were talking there all night about what happened with the three of us.

I'll admit, it went down pretty bad. I didn't expect that the situation would go off course by the second I said those words.

Well, its really my fault if I'll be honest with myself.

I'm still here in my bed wearing my Pink Panda Pajamas. I slept so late last night because I couldn't really catch some z's.

I grabbed my phone and quickly unlocked it, I immediately saw the most beautiful wallpaper that I have ever seen.

It was me and Toby dressed as Catwoman and Batman for Halloween. Toby was such a comic geek.

He would always talk about the comic books he bought from the comic book shop near our school every single day.

And as any normal teenage girl would have done, I pretended to listen every single time he talked about geeky stuff.

Toby and I have a lot of differences.

I like Orange juice, he likes Coca-Cola.

I play the Acoustic Guitar, while he doesn't play any kind of instrument.

I like Pop, while he likes Classical Music.

So yeah, a lot of differences.

Sometimes I wonder, how did we end up together?

Why were we able to have an intimate relationship despite our bombarding differences?

I guess, we just took a risk. Because that's what life's all about, taking chances to see what the outcome will be. Not being afraid to see what lies ahead of you.

I was the one who had good social skills, and he was the one who was socially isolated way back before we were in 7th grade.

But he changed.

He's much more cooler now.

Kind of like a more mature person if I say so myself.

It was a surprise to see Toby change so much in such little time.

Who would've thought that the socially isolated kid who had anxiety and depression issues when he was young, would become the most outstanding student in the whole 7th grade class.

Change. It's one of our most special and unique abilities.

Or I don't know. Maybe Toby just got hit by puberty too hard.

Suddenly, I heard someone knocking on my door.

"Open up Laura, its me." mom said.

"Just a second mom." I replied.

I fixed my bed and immediately rushed to the door.

I opened it and mom asked if she could come in, I accepted her humble request and we sat down my bed.

"Laura, I'm sorry that I slapped you last night. Are you okay?" mom humbly said.

"I'm okay now mom. I'm sorry too." I replied.

She hugged me.

"Oh Laura, you're growing up so fast. I wish that we could just reverse time and play the symphony of our memories again."
