Today is the day of mom's operation. Dad and I were feeling very uneasy and nervous at the same time.

My heart was pounding so fast and I was sweating like a hog. While dad was staring at mom, you could really see the sadness in his eyes.

It was 10:00 in the morning at that time, and we were patiently waiting by mom's bedside for the nurse to arrive.

I heard footsteps from the outside of mom's room. It felt like a scene from a movie. I felt terrified.

A female nurse went into our room.

"It's time for the operation, I have to take her to the operating room." she said.

"Okay." my dad replied.

Dad looked so worried. I was so worried as well. Mom might never be the same after this.

The nurse took mom to the operating room where the doctor was waiting. He was preparing all the equipment that will be needed over the course of the operation.

The doors of the operation room closed and the little light bulb above it went from green to red.

My heart was pumping. It was so stressful. But I have to remember, I have to have a little faith.

I clenched my fist, and bit my lip.

Mom. If you're hearing this right now, get through this.

~Laura's POV~
It's currently 12 noon here in Sydney, Australia. Mom and I went to the supermarket to grab some food for lunch, while dad stayed at home to fix a broken window that I accidentally caused.

I was picking up some yogurt and milk when a kid bumped into me, and she was crying heavily. I began to talk to her.

"What's the matter?" I asked the child.

"I can't find my mommy." the kid replied.

"Don't worry, everything's going to be okay. What's your name?"

"Melissa." the kid responded.

"Okay Melissa, how old are you?" I asked the child.

"I'm 8 years old." the kid replied.

"Okay, let's go find your mommy."

I went to the assistance desk to ask for help to find the mother of little melissa.

The assistance personnel called for the mother of melissa through the speakers inside the supermarket, and 10 minutes later. The mother of melissa came to the assistance desk to pick her up. The mother offered to give me a reward, but I refused her offer. She thanked me and I went back to mom and we went to the counter to pay for the stuff that we picked up.

I didn't have the guts to accept the offer of melissa's mom. Toby taught me to be humble and kind all the time. He would've done the same thing. Oh how I miss him so much.

We went home after paying for the stuff that we needed and we got home at about 1:00 in the afternoon.

Dad was done fixing the window that I accidentally broke. And mom was organizing the stuff that we bought in the supermarket.

I sat on the couch next to dad and we started to talk.

"How you holding up Laura?" dad asked.

"I'm still adapting, to everything around us. The atmosphere, the people, the places. Yeah, everything." I replied.

"I hope you understand why we moved here Laura, It's for the best."
