Elemental Animals: Ninja Born

chapter 1: Zane

Zane smiled. Today was the day, that he was going to summon a spirit animal. Only certain people summon a spirit animal but not until they were twelve. Zane thought of what he could summon, maybe a seal or a penguin.
He slipped into a long coat, a white shirt, and blue jeans. Zane walked outside into the cold air of his icy home. He smiled, it was time.
There was three other kids, two girls and a boy, in his village who also were going find out if they could summon a spirit animal or not. The summoning happened in alphabetical order of first names, Zane being at the end. He looked to the others in waiting. One girl had crisp blonde hair, long and braided tight. The other girl had short black hair that was brushed neatly. The boy had dark brown hair, combed just as perfectly as the second girl's hair. He assumed they were probably related or the parents knew each other very well. Waiting for the ceremony to start made Zane grew a little self conscious but brushed it off quickly when the host of the celebration called up the first person for the ceremony to start. The blonde girl walked up, she took a sip of the nectar and waited. When nothing happened, the girl walked back and sat down. Next the boy went up, took a sip and just like the first girl nothing happened. The second girl walked up when her name was called but nothing happened when took a sip. Zane was ready for what happened, his eyes flickered over to his father. A smiled was on his face and made a motion for Zane to go on. Zane heard his name being called and he walked up. The person handed him the nectar, Zane took a sip. A rush of flavor filled his mouth, and when he waited. Something washed over like a drop into an icy bath. People gasped softly, a falcon preached itself on Zane's shoulder. A gyre falcon was preached on his shoulder. Zane had summon a spirit animal, a great beast as his spirit animal, Essix.
