The rock was cutting into his palm. Not that it had before but still. Cole was used to it. He had climbed the cliff side before many times and his hands had been cut into so much that the skin was harden and made it easier to climb up.
Cole pulled himself up over the edge of the cliff, he was sweaty and out of breath. He was laying on his back, his eyes closed, trying to catch his breath. The light from behind his eyelids had darkened and Cole opened one eye. His father was standing over him "Do you not understand how important today is?" He asked. Cole groaned, today was summoning day. How could he not forget. Everybody in the village knew who his father was and what family he was from. The royal blacksmiths, his family was rich and famous but some days Cole wished he wasn't born to this family.

Cole hated the hair brush. He hissed each time it tugged on his hair. Sometimes big pieces of hair came out "I'm sorry if it hurts Cole but this is why brushing hair is necessary," the woman said. Cole groaned, she was right but he never brushed his hair often. After awhile he was standing in front mirror putting his hair back to normal.
Someone knocked on Cole's door "Come in," he said.
Cole's aunt, Mellin, walked in. She greeted him with a smile "How's the summoning boy doing?" She asked.
Cole looked at her "Stressted," He replied.
Mellin pat his head "You'll do great besides it's not like anyone cares if you summon a spirit animal or not," she said. Cole sighed, she was right, the world didn't depend on him for a spirit animal.
The ceremony was about to start. Now it felt like the world was depending on him. There were two other kids that were going to drink Ninani's nectar and the first kid summoned nothing.
Cole was next and now he was screaming internally. The person called him forth "Cole Brookstone, son of Lou Brookstone, receive the nectar of Ninani," they said. He stood up and walked over. The person handed him a bowl of a strange liquid, it was golden like honey but moved like water. He sipped it, a sour violent flavor filled his mouth. It felt almost impossible for him not to spit it out, suddenly he was enraptured by a warm feeling and the ground felt like it was shaking. It rumbled and shook like it was threatening to tear open beneath his feet. People were panicking and just as quickly as the shaking started, it stopped. A leopard walked up to Cole, rubbing its head into his hand.
Two old men walked up to him, "You've summoned Uraza, please come with us," One with a long white beard said.
