Chapter 3

  Shiroi (Human age 8, Fox age 13)

I opened my eyes to the strong smell of Waffles and my Mom. I looked up to see my Mom in the door, she grinned at me.

"I guess I can't sneak up on you to wake you up." She said with a giggle.

I nodded with a smile, "Nope." I said.

She walked over and kissed my head lightly. "Well get dressed, breakfast is done and Dad has to tell you something." She said and walked out.

Excitement filled up in my chest and I jumped up quickly, getting dressed in a green kimono that Mom bought me the other day.  Then I ran out and into the kitchen sitting at the dinning table; Mom turned at sat plate of waffles down in front of my which I scrounged down like my life depended on it.

"Oh there Shiro. Slow down before you choke." My Dad said chuckling as he walked past me with a smile.

I took big swallow of my food and orange juice that was sat in front of me. I then turned to Dad breathing heavily, "So Dad, what have you got to tell me?" I asked excitedly.

He smiled mischievously, "You'll have to wait after finishing your breakfast." He said and kissed Mom's cheek as she came down beside him, setting his own plate of waffles down.

I groaned but didn't argue, stabbing my fork into my waffles. I ate the rest of my waffles and drank my juice. After breakfast, Dad and I kissed Mom goodbye and left the house walking down the streets of Kahona.

I stayed quiet though my obvious impatience showed through my fast wagging tail and my ears stood attentive. I bit my lip and looked at my Dad, who looked straight ahead. I closed my eyes and looked ahead squeezing my little had into a tight fist.

I will not break....

"Dad tell me what were doing already, Dattebane!" I blurted suddenly, picking up Moms speech pattern over the months I've been here. It only comes out when I'm really excited, anxious, angry, or happy. My eyes widened as I cover my mouth.

Damn, I broke....

Dad looked at me with a knowing smile, "You sure are impatient aren't you?" He asked.

I blushed looked away, "Stop teasing me Dad its not funny." I say.

He laughed, "Alright Alright, I'll stop." He said, I looked up at him.

"Shiroi you know I have a team I have to teach. Right? The reason I leave in the mornings. Well when I'm not on missions I cut the team's training time in half so that I can come back home to train you." He says and I nodded waiting for him to continue.

"Well from now on, your gonna train with us. So that I can train you both at the same time and have more training time." He said with a small smile.

My tail waved faster, "Really?" I asked not believing him for a moment.

"Really." He said with a nod.

I smiled brightly and held his hand pulling him fasted along with me. "C'mon Dad let's go lets go let's go!" I say with enthusiasm.

As we got closer to the training grounds, though, my enthusiasm shriveled. I was meeting Dad's students, would they hate me? Like me? Think I'm a freak?

Dad chuckled as we arrived I was practically clutched onto his back and hidden behind him, the only piece of me showing was my leg and tail.

"Minato-sensei!" I heard boy and girl's voice.

"Hey Obito and Rin." He greeted.

I peeked my head out behind Dad and looked to see a boy with brown hair and orange goggles as well as a girl with short brown hair and purple marks under her eyes. My Dad then turned to a boy with white hair, "Kakashi." He said with a simple nod of his head.
