When I woke up there was only myself, Cisco and Caitlin in the cortex. Cisco was working on some new tech and Caitlin was typing away on her computer. Looking over to the clock I saw that it had been 3 1/2 hours since I fell asleep.
Now here I am, spun on my chair, hands clasped behind my head. "I wonder where Barry is," I pondered aloud. Next thing I knew, my chair had been knocked over and I was on the floor.
"Excuse you!" I exclaimed grumpily.
"Found him," said Cisco, pointing at Barry. I followed his gaze and saw my brother holding onto the table for support, eyes wide. He looked haunted, a way I hadn't seen him since the night our mother had been killed.
I stood up and walked over to him. "Are you ok?" I asked gently. He shook his head sadly, still not meeting my eyes. "Do you want me to call Joe?" Barry nodded. I guided him to a chair, sharing worried glances with Cisco and Caitlin.
I pulled out my mobile. "Joe, I need you to come to S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry's here but he's as white as a sheet and all emo and not talking and I'm really worried!"
.....
Third Person's POV
"What do you think happened?" Cisco asked Caitlin. They were stood in the corner of the room not sure what to do about Barry. But to be honest, Charlie seemed to know what she was doing.
"He seems to be exhibiting signs of trauma, or maybe post-traumatic stress, but it's too early to be able to tell much," said Caitlin.
"There was a man," Barry whispered. Charlie bit her bottom lip.
Joe entered, caught sight of Barry and froze. "What the hell happened?!" He asked Charlie.
She shrugged. "All he's said is 'there was a man'. Not very helpful considering the amount of men in the world!"
Barry stood up and turned to face his sister, placing both hand on her shoulders . "The man who killed our... our mother. I saw him. I spoke to him!"
"YOU WHAT?!" Exclaimed Charlie, pulling away from her distressed brother.
.....
Charlie's POV"I spoke to him. He acted like he knew me, like we'd done this before."
Joe stepped forward. "He was antagonizing you, Bare."
Barry shook his head. "I would get close, and he'd just pull away. I mean, this was just some sick game to him."
Caitlin smiled gently. "You'll catch him. We'll help."
Barry waved her away. "No, you don't get it, all right? His speed, it is it's beyond me. I'm not the fastest man alive. He is. So how do we catch somebody that even I can't keep up with?"
"Easy," I said. "I do it." My gazed resolutely at them all. "But first, we have a man on fire to find."
.....
Third Person's POVIris's phone rang. She glanced around the CCPN office to make sure nobody was listening in. "Hello?"
"Hey, it's Charlie. I was catching up on your blog, and this story caught my eye about a man whose head and hands burst into flames?"
"The burning man?" Offered Iris in a whisper, her reporter voice on. "Is he dangerous? Do you know something about him?"
"Something like that," Replied Charlie.
"I haven't really updated that story in a while, but there are some reports that I could send you."
"That'd be great. Thank you, Iris."
