Caged

Chapter 3

Luna shivered. She was colder than she had ever been before.

She didn't dare open her eyes in fear that the human would hurt her.

Her whole body ached. What was happening?

Then she heard a voice. A voice she could actually understand, and yet it didn't sound like an animal's. It sounded... strange.

"I know you're awake," Came the voice. "You can open your eyes, I won't hurt you." Luna slowly opened her eyes and whimpered. The human stood less than a fox-length away from her.

He tilted his head. "I'm glad you're finally awake," he said, and Luna gasped. She could understand him!

The man smirked. "Yes, you can understand me. This is because I have made you like me. Well... almost."

Luna looked at herself to find that she was a human. Her eyes widened and she whimpered. But why couldn't she speak?

The man laughed. "Oh, you're so stupid!" He said in between giggles. Suddenly his face was inches away from Luna's. "GOOD!" He snarled. "That's how I created you."

Good Lord, this man has issues, Luna thought. The man stood at the door now. "You don't move, stupid little fox," he growled. He then left the room.

Luna curled up into a ball, tucking her knees into her stomach. She thought of Ash, and of Taylor and her mum. Where were they? Did they miss her as much as she missed them?

The man came back a few minutes later with a large cage and a strip of leather with a gold circle hanging off of it. He pulled the leather over her head and tightened it around her neck, so she couldn't bend her head. He then pushed her into the cage and snapped the door shut.

At least she could sit up straight now. But it wasn't a very big improvement. She was jostled to the back of the cage as the man pushed it up against all of the other cages. He smirked at her and left her there. No food. No water. No family. She was caged.

OYEA, two in a day! :) hope you all liked it. And don't worry, the story gets better, I've got it all planned out in my head. :)
