The Notorious Nine: Battery City Stories

The Night Calls: Part 3 (Widow, Deathwish and Demon's POV)

The night sky fell and the Notorious Nine rose up to the streets of Battery City. It was time that the Nine put Battery on notice. Dramatic Demon kept Deathwish and Toxic Widow behind "Alright, we need to sweep in and cause chaos. Stay by me and you'll be ok." They nodded in agreement as they start to walk towards downtown. We make our way down town as we see a patrol car ride down the streets with siren's blaring. I drag everyone into the alley to get out of the head lights of the car. "We have to move cautiously." Widow pointed out. The three nodded in agreement as Dramatic Demon grabbed onto Deathwish's hand and kept moving.

They neared downtown and all of a sudden, the loud speakers used to warn civilians of emergencies started to play a voice "Greetings street vermin, it looks like you've decided to come to the wrong place at the wrong time. Well lets just see how big you are now. You can meet me in the town square within the hour and either conform or die a painful death. Goodbye."

The air got quiet as Deathwish gripped the hand of Dramatic Demon tighter. Demon looked at her and hugged her "We're gonna be ok Deathwish." They both blushed softly as they looked at each other. "Whats the move Demon?" Widow said as he snapped out of the moment. "We march on the town square and meet this man." He said with confidence in his voice. They started to march onto the square as they heard the voice of Sparkling Revenge on the walkie talkie. "Demon, we made our name known where they're gonna see it." Revenge said as he answered back "Excellent! Go down to the streets and see if the others need help."

Dramatic Demon put away the walkie talkie as he came face to face with a man and a group of Draculoids. "So you must be the leader of you parasites." The man spoke up as he placed a hand in his pocket. "What is it to you?" Demon answered as he examined him. "Well you see, Better Living Industries hires me to 'take out the trash' if you catch my drift." He said as he approached. Demon stepped up as well as they stared each other down "So, you got a name?" Demon asked. "Just call me, Korse..." He said coldly as he held his hand out "...and yours sir?" He said smiling evilly. "Call me Dramatic Demon." He said as he stared into his emotionless eyes. "So Mister Demon, what do you choose?" He asked smiling with malicious intentions on his mind. "Well..." Demon said as he stood in thought "...I guess it can't be too bad." He said as he shook Korse's hand. "Great..." he said with an evil laugh as he began to walk away. Demon pulled him back and punched him in the side of the face "Take cover!!!!!" Dramatic Demon called out as Korse stumbled to get up. "Fire at will!!!!!" Korse ordered to the Draculoids as he wiped blood off his lip.

Demon grabbed the walkie talkie as he looked at Widow and Deathwish. "Guys! Guys this is urgent!" Dramatic Demon said. After a few minutes, he heard the familiar voice of Shattered Heart answer back, "What is it Demon?". "We need major back up in downtown! ASAP!" He said with Ray Gun-fire in the background. He quickly grabbed his Ray Gun and started to fire on the expanding group of Draculoids. "Dammit! It's no use!" Widow said as Demon clutched Deathwish's hand with concern as he was about to speak up. Then suddenly, they heard the Ray Gun fire of the other six, causing the Dracs and Korse to back up and retreat.

Demon gets up and smiles at everyone. "Hey Demon, hold on so you don't lose track of her." Tiger said with a laugh as Demon and Deathwish let go at the same time, blushing. "Unbroken, Revenge, Harlequin, mark the spot." He said as he pointed to the Better Living Industries building. The three started to walk over and paint the wall with their symbol. "So what now?" Shattered Heart asked as she looked at me. "Celebrate?" I say smiling. "Yeah!!! Party!!!!!" War Tiger yelled happily. The rest laughed as they made their way back home to the underground.
