Mind Over Matters

"Master...Master...please heed my warning..."

A voice called out as Dramatic Demon stood up in a black room, fully clothed in his Killjoy costume.

"Who are you? Where are you? Come out and face me!"

Demon said as he attempted to reach for his raygun and felt nothing at his side.

"Please, calm down and turn around to face me."

Demon reluctantly turned around and saw nothing behind him. He attempted to take a step when the tip of his foot hit a bump. He looked down and saw his turtle, Sheldon.

"Wait...Sheldon...?"

Demon said as Sheldon looked up right back at him.

"Yes, it is me Master. There is much that needs to be said and its very important that you listen."

Demon knelt down and picked up Sheldon, staring at him and observing how he's talking to him without actually moving his mouth.

"Please forgive me, I didn't get to explain how this is happening. I was an experiment by Better Living Industries. They wanted to play God and adapt hyper intelligence to not only me but other animals so they might get an edge over any rebelling people. Now is the part where you and the others come in; I can only talk to you through a mind link I have with you. I need to tell you that Better Living Industries want to blow the water reserves and bring Battery City and you guys to sea level."

Sheldon said as Demon put him down with shock in his face. He needed to take time to process what he has just heard and how he was going to save everyone.

"How am I supposed to get everyone to safety? I need to find a way to get the rest of the group to safer land and I don't think I can..."

Demon said trying to run through every possible idea on how to save his friends.

"This may not help, but I know the location of a ship..."

Sheldon spoke up as Demon turned to see Sheldon.

"...Some guys did a bust on a BLI ship across the water and they may not be the easiest people to deal with. They go by the name 'The Bandits Bureau' and they only take to members."

Sheldon said, scooting towards Demon and looking up at him.

"So I have to join and get their mark if I want a ship..."

Demon said to himself in thought, pondering the idea.

"...Its a risk i'm going to have to take."

Demon said as he began to walk away from Sheldon.

"Please be safe Master, you have your mate to think about."

Sheldon said before Demon left him. Demon suddenly woke up in his bed to see he was back to his room with Deathwish next to him sleeping. He got out of bed quietly to grab his clothes and raygun. He quietly snuck out with his Triumph keys with one goal in mind, getting that boat and keeping the others safe.
