I woke up early and decided to get dressed and go for a walk. I left a note and made my way outside. I walked around the ranch and eventually I found the horses. I saw a beautiful Palimino. I stared at it in awe, smiling at its beauty the way it's mane flowed, or its tail.
"That's the horse I birthed." Lucas said from behind me.
"Hi." I said turning around to face him, he had gotten changed but his hair wasn't done but I liked it. His voice was hoarse from sleep but who cares.
"Hey."
"She's beautiful." I said.
"You wanna go for a ride?" He asked.
"Yes." I said in a duh voice.
"Let me get the tack." He said Rachel Ng back towards the ranch. I saw some tch in the fence and I decided to give it a go. I picked up the saddle Ruth and placed it on her back the I proceeded to saddle her up. By the time Lucas was back with the key I had already finished.
"How did you do that?." He asked.
"I've learned things." I said.
"Can you ride?" He asked.
"Not really." I said.
"Ok, you ready?" He asked.
"Yes let's go.."
He put a foot through the stirrup and got on, he then offered his hand for me to get on.
I took his hand and he pulled me up. I wrapped my arms around his waist and we took off. We rode for what felt like five minutes but was actually an hour. When we got back Lucas left to go back to see if anyone was awake. When he left I got back in the horse. I was kinda lying when I said I couldn't ride. I nudged the horse with my boot and she took off. I headed for the jumping arena. The horse went with me, jump after jump we went around in circles. I took her to the cross country and rode her through once. I knew I must've been a while but I didn't care, it was just me and the horse. I rode back to the ranch and into the stables and I saw Lucas and Zay standing at the door with their mouths open. I demounted the horse and de saddled her.
"What's wrong?" I asked the boys.
"Y-you, ride like a pro." They said.
"Not a pro but yeah I ride." I said.
"What else can you do?" Lucas asked. I thought for a minute then it snapped.
"I'll show you." I said.
I walked past and into the house. I reached for a bag I had sent over. The boys were about to see.
I took the bag out into the woods. The boys followed. I grabbed a target and nailed it to a tree. That's when I brought out my compound bow.
"Woah." Lucas said. I smirked and loaded it. I pulled back on the string and released the arrow. It landed near the middle, I kept going and after three more shots I had a bullseye.
"That's one other thing." I said to the boys.
"And the other?"
I reached into my bag and pulled out a plastic bag full of empty cans. I set the cans up all over the place and took out my second weapon.
My hunting rifle.
"Woah." I heard Zay say mimicking Lucas. I checked the boys some earmuffs and told the, to put them on. I put mine on and loaded the gun.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
All cans down.
I put my gun away and collected my stuff, packing it in a plastic bag.
"So there you go, are you scared of me yet?" I asked smirking.
"A little." They said.
We walked back to the ranch and Pappy Joe turned to face us immediately.
"Did you hear the gunshots, and someone was seen riding the Palimino for a good hour." He said.
"That as me, sorry pappy Joe."I said.
"You, no way." He said.
"Oh it was." Lucas said pulling out a can.
"Well I'll be."
"City girl can shoot." He said.
"And ride."
"What?."
"Horses, and motorbikes"I said
"Well look you better get those friends of yours we best be leaving." He said.
I ran in and got Maya and Riley. We were all excited.
We walked to the rodeo as it was only down the road. when we got there I wandered around and found the horses. I stayed there for about five minutes then went to the drinks tent. When I got there Lucas, Maya, Riley and Zay were watching the bulls.
"And now, Eddie Callaway" the presenter called.
Eddie was on for three seconds and then he was knocked unconscious.
"You can't be serious!" Maya yelled "you aren't doing that!" She exclaimed.
"I'll be fine, I learnt from the best actually." Lucas said.
"Who's the best?" Riley asked.
"Eddie Callaway." He said nervously.
"No, you can't do that!" Maya said.
"Maya." Riley said.
"What Riley, why do you want him to do this so bad, I mean Lexi, what about you?."
"I just want him to be happy, I want him to succeed." I said.
"Riles?" Maya asked.
"I want him to not be the town embarrassment."
"Pappy Joe?"
"If he does it I'll be proud."
"So you won't be proud if he doesn't do it?"
"Sounds bout right."
"Now Next will we have a master of tombstone?." The presenter called.
"That's my cue."
"Lucas?" Maya said.
"Yes."
"If you do this I will never speak to you again." She said.
"What, but Maya?"
"I will never speak to you again."
